Dear Ella, William Buck Roach was a constable in McNairy County and this is his Day Book with his entries. There are several names--seems they were pretty busy collecting a dollar to sometimes forty, fifty dollars. I hope someday to go through the transcription and compare to the spellings in a McNairy census for 1850 and 1860--but if I run across a Rufus Smith, I will try to remember to let you know.
