Benton Co, Tenn - Deed Book C, p 368-370 In 1851 John Barnes, Elijah Dancer, Margaret Oxford (Moses Barnes 1st wife), Barnet Dancer, James Latin, Jane Barnes Latin, heirs of Jesse Barnes sold 2 tracts of land to James Shirley _ Range 8, section 2, & Range 7, section 2.... 200 acres and 189 1/2 acres; address for heirs - McNairy Co, Tenn. Also, in 1851 the same land was sold to James Shirley by the following heirs: Westly J. Barnes, Pleasant (Plez) Barnes (male), John Birkett (really Bur), James Birkett, Dennis Barnes, Reliance Barnes, William Balery, Hannah Baley, Alfred Inman, Nancy Inman, David Baley, Elizabeth Bailey, Dennis Birkett, Mahala Birkett, Mahulda Barnes, Henry Barnes, Nancy Paschal and Charles Barnes.
