Joel BLANKENSHIP (b 21 May 1799 in Morgan Co, AL; d 09 Oct 1844 in McNairy Co, TN) and wife Mary SMITH (b~1807in GA). Joel was stabbed to death in a fight. Left Mary with 10 children, the youngest of which was Samuel Newton BLANKENSHIP my grgranddaddy. He married Lucinda TAYLOR and thier son Charles O. BLANKENSHIP married Minnie Elizabeth HARVELL(b 18 Sep 1894 in Guys, TN) Minnie's parents were William M. HARVELL b 20 Apr 1861 and Sarah Elvira "Ellie" MITHCHELL. I have no info on Bill HARVELL'S family. Ellie MITCHELL'S parents were James M. MITCHELL and Martha Caroline CARR. Supposedly Martha Carr was a midwife. She and Jim MITCHELL met on a wagon train. Chewalla and Guys are the two towns mentioned in the birth certificates I have. Any help with these families and their links appreciated.
