(3) Jonas Franklin Dancer b 24 March 1827 TN d 10 Oct 1911 at Ramer, McNairy Co, TN m (1) 27 Sep 1849 Mary Ann Higginbottom (2) 22 Jan 1899 Elizabeth Francis Jones. Jonas was a Baptist preacher and farmer. (4) Mary Jane Dancer b 4 Feb 1829 McNairy Co, TN d 30 Oct 1896 in Hardin Co, TN buried at Saltillo in Hardin Co. She m 14 May 1854 in Tishomingo Co, MS Dempsey F. Yow b 11 June 1831 in Moore Co, NC d 13 June 1907 in Marshall Co, OK. Mary Jane died in a buggy accident or from injuries received in the accident when she was on the way to deliver a baby. She was a midwife or legend says "country doctor." (5) Joseph? Dancer b 1831 appears on the 1850 census and we have never located him again. He would have been the right age to serve in the CW but we have located no record of him serving in the war. (6) Samuel Dennis (Sam) Dancer b Oct 1836 d bef 1910 Kaufman Co, TX burial at Terrell in Kaufman Co. Sam m (1) 26 March 1857 Tishomingo Co,MS to Susan Whitaker b 1837 d bef 1876 (2) 1875 [MS/TN? marriage record not located] Nancy Jane Wilds b 1852 TN d 1881 McNairy Co (3) 17 Dec 1885 McNairy Co Louiza Fields and moved immediately to Texas. (7) Sarah A. Dancer b 1838 Tishomingo Co, MS [no death date] m 11 Nov 1866 McNairy Co to William J. Sipes [no further information] (8) William M. Dancer b 1840 Tishomingo Co, MS d 1 Jan 1862 at Camp Fisher, VA of pneumonia. Served in Company A, 2nd Mississippi Regiment, enlistment at Iuka. (9) Stephen Pinkney Dancer (Steve or Pink) b 7 Jul 1843 rural Henry Co, TN [now Benton Co] d 1 Sep 1917 Boswell, Choctaw Co, OK m 1 Jan 1865 in Old Tishomingo Co, MS to Keziah (Kizzie) Caroline Walker [dau of Allen Wood Walker and Bethany Emaline Howard] b 16 Jun 1846 Itawamba, MS d 30 Apr 1929 Boswell, OK. Stephen Pink and Kizzie Caroline are both buried at Garretts Bluff, Lamar Co, TX. S. P. was a private in Company A, 2nd Miss Reg of Conf States Volunteers, enlistment at Iuka, wounded at the Battle of Gaines Farm. Received a Confederate pension from OK. Kizzie Caroline received a widow's pension after his death. This is probably more than you wanted to know about this family. Stephen Pinkney Dancer is my husband Mayo's great grandfather.
