Some comments about the parents of John Henderson Walker for whatever they are worth. I have to wonder of Jonathan and Matilda Walker are the parents of John H. Walker. Here are my reasons: 1. John H. Walker rather consistently gives the birthplace of his father as NC and his mother as VA. Jonathan in 1860 says he was born in TN and Matilda gives her birth place as NC. 2. On the census in 1860, John H. Walker is listed last amongst the Walker children after Thomas M. Walker age 6 mos. This was the customary way of listing children who were not children of the head of household. 3. John H. and Jasper N. could be twins but maybe not.
