It's possible that he is in Hardin Co., TN. Living close by are these two Meek families: 1850 Census McNairy Co., TN. 11th Dist, pg 109 family 1513/1516 John Meeks/34/M/farmer/300/TN with wife and 6 children 1850 Census McNairy Co., TN. 11th Dist, pg 110 family 1522/1525 Andrew Meeks/28/M/farmer/400/TN Esther/24/F/TN >From tombstones which I photographed in the Morris Chapel Cemetery a few years ago I have the following M. M. Meek and others. Since Adam Meek is also buried there, I would think that this M. M. Meek would have to be related but don't know his name, only his initials. Sarah seems to have been his wife so this can't be the Moses with wife Rebecca unless Sarah was a second wife. Tombstones in Morris Chapel Church Cemetery, Hardin County, Tennessee: M. M. Great, great, great, grandparents of C. F. & L. J. Meek. Do you have the approximately birth date or year for your Marion Moses Meek? The one on the 1850 census was born about 1810. The M. M. Meek whose tombstone I found was born in 1814. I don't know if they're the same people or not. There are three of Adam's children whom I am not sure of and wonder if some of Adam's brothers also came to the Hardin/McNairy Co., TN., area. -- Johnita P. Malone jmalone@ix.netcom.com
