    2. BERTIE B DANCER
    3. Bobbie, I hope you are feeling better. This stuff that's going around is no fun at all. The light dawns but slowly. Elijah Dancer m Margarett Barnes. Samuel Dancer m Nancy Barnes. Mahala Barnes m Dennis Burchett. Grandson of Elijah, William J. Dancer b 1844 Benton Co m E. Ann Burchett. In your notes on the Jesse Barnes estate I noticed that Dennis Burchett and Mahala Barnes went to AR. Do you know any of the story of their move to AR? Second son of W. J. and E. Ann was Charlie Dancer. He disappeared from AR and for years I had been trying to figure out who a Charles Dancer was who showed up Lamar Co, TX and then finally settled in Denton Co, TX. The youngest son of Samuel Dancer and Nancy Barnes was Stephen Pinkney Dancer b 1843 in Benton Co, TN. He moved his family to Lamar Co, TX about 1875. His wife was Keziah Caroline Walker. 1900 census of Lamar Co, TX shows Charles and Isabel (?) Dancer and daughter Goldie. Now Charles was b Jun 1867 in TN and Isabel (?) was b Dec 1877 in TX. I wish I knew who she was. After Lamar Co Charles and Isabel moved to Denton Co, TX and his death record shows that he died in Denton Co. I have seen Barnes and Burchett on the surname list for Lamar Co and I kept thinking it would be weird if................................ and I guess it is. I've got some checking to do. Now Stephen Pink Dancer and William J. Dancer were both b in Benton Co TN 1843 and 1844. They would have been first cousins once removed on the Dancer side. On the Barnes side, who knows? Wm. J. would have been first cousin twice removed to S. P. Dancer, but he came to TX to be near cousins. Remarkable! Well, I guess it is possible they didn't know each other and everything is purely coincidental. Yeah, sure! Something to think about.
