Bobbie, Bless your heart, you are just working away. I've been sick and haven't gotten a thing done. I haven't been able to sleep at night for coughing. No fun at all. Maybe Reliance will show up in the Sistler marriage records. I'll get to the library this weekend if possible. Were these two Dennis Barnes close in age? Old Dennis Barnes was born about 1766. The old one I think is the one thought to be Nancy's father. I need to really work all the census records so I'll know what is going on with all those guys. How many Dennis Barneses were there anyway? I believe you said that Charles Barnes is believed to be a son of old Dennis. About when was he born? Would he have been younger than Nancy Barnes Dancer b 1800 SC? I think I'll start a Barnes database so I can keep track of these families. Since we now know that Margarett Dancer was a Barnes also, it gets more and more interesting. ASHALL DANCER, the eldest of the Dancer boys, was married probably in 1813 or 1814. His first child was born in TN 18 Jun 1815. His wife is said to be MARY WARD. There is no documented proof of who she is, but she is supposed to be Indian. I'm betting he may have married in Stewart Co, also, since that is where we believe the family was living at the time. In 1820 he was in Franklin Co, AL and in 1830 Shelby Co, TN. The family was in Texas by 1836. Mary was born in TN abt 1798. Just thinking.
