    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper, Wed., Aug. 10, 2005 DAVID A HAMM, age 41, of Selmer, TN, passed away on Aug. 2, 2005 at his home. Mr. Hamm was preceded in death by his father, Ted Hamm; and grandparents Benton K. and Josie Hamm and Henry & Myrtle Barnes. He is survived by his mother, Jo Ann Barnes Hamm Younger of Ramer, TN; his wife, Lori Roland Hamm; mother-in-law, Mary Roland; two sons, PFC Dustin A. Hamm of Aberdeen, MD, and Daniel S. Hamm of Selmer; three sisters, Sherry Hamm and Carol Hamm McGee of Corinth, MS and Cindy Wilbanks of Walnut, MS; two brothers, Darrell and Doug Hamm of Ramer, seven nephews, four nieces, 5 gr-nephews and gr-nieces. Services were at 1 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 6th, at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer with Chris Kitchen officiating. Burial followed in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Selmer. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of the arrangements. ................ Funeral services for VELMA REID WARDLOW, 95, were held at 2 p.m. Tues, Aug. 9th, at the Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer, TN. Burial followed in Pebble Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Wardlow, a homemaker, died Sat., Aug. 6, 2005, at McNairy Regional Hospital. She was a former Pink Lady Volunteer for McNairy County General Hospital and a member of the Selmer First United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughter, Iona Christine Atkins of Old Hickory, TN, and Virginia Matlock of Selmer; one son, Gordon Reid Wardlow of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren, Barbara Shipman, Gordon R. Wardlow, Jr., David Wardlow, Duuna Kee, Mary Todd Tucker, and Steven Atkins; seven gr-grandchildren, Dustin Wardlow, Carter Wardlow, Devin Atkins, Ian Atkins, Sunny Shipman, Reid Tucker, and Jason Childers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brown (Jack) Wardlow; her parents, Nora Emaline Reid and Oscar Lee Reid; one daughter, Sybil Audene Childers; two grandchildren, Brenda Childers and Jerry Childers; and one gr-grandchild, Taylor Wardlow. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of the arrangements. ................ CARRIE MAE LOGUE, age 80, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Aug. 1, 2005, at Magnolia Regional health Center. Ms. Logue was a member of Second & Meek Street Church of Christ and a faithful Christian Lady who enjoyed helping others and thought of them first, often visiting the sick. Ms. Logue was preceded in death by her father, Bob Lokey; her mother, Effie Lancaster; her stepfather, Luther Follin; two husbands, C. R. Gurley and Everett N. Logue; two sisters, Leeta Cross and Avis Jones; and two brothers, J. V. Lokey and J. Z. Lokey. She is survived by five sons, Ricky Gurley and wife, Clair, of Kiev, Ukraine, Timothy Gurley of Selmer, TN, and Larry Gurley Lyndall Gurley and wife, Sibyl, and Shawn Gurley and wife, Linda, all of Corinth; two sisters, Gladys Dunn of Corinth and Maggie Briggs of Walnut, MS; one half-sister, Jane Austin of Pickwick; one brother, B. W. Lokey of Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and sixteen gr-grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. on Fri., Aug. 5th at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors with Daniel Holloway officiating. Burial followed in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of the arrangements. ................ JARVIS LAMONT (BUBBA) CLARK was born on Tues., Dec. 14, 1982, the son of Casaundra Atkins and Thomas Clark. He departed this life on Wed., Aug. 3, 2005, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. He attended Selmer Elementary School and later graduated from Wayne Academy High School in Waynesboro, TN. Bubba leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Casaundra Atkins, his father, Thomas Clark, fiancé, Samantha Hubanks, a daughter, Aniya Nichole Hubanks, his grandparents, Mail & Ada Atkins, two sisters, Tamara Dickey and husband, J. D., and Ruth Clark; three brothers, twin Jerren Antwain Clark, Tavares Atkins, and Pierre Robinson; a nephew, Zhyshonne Tavarie Walker; six aunts, Charlotte Atkins, Gena Hughes, Mary Hearn, Cora Conley, Rosie Westbrooks, and Debra Thomas; two uncles, Harrison Damron and Jerry Hughes; five close cousins, December Reed, Charles Atkins, Jr. LaShaun Damron, Greg Hughes, and Ronika Westbrooks; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. Services were at 1 p.m. on Mon., Aug. 8th, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Wooden officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Selmer. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Selmer Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements. ................ ALBERT E. "PETE" LEMONS, age 78, of Finger, TN, passed away on Aug. 3, 2005, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born and reared at Ripley in Lauderdale County, the son of the late Roy and Pauline Jeter Lemons. He went to school in Lauderdale County. The entered the Army in World War II and served during the occupation in France and Germany. He was married to Polly Vaughn in 1951, and they lived in Memphis, TN and then in Carpentersville, IL, until 1966, when they moved to Finger. Mr. Lemons had worked for Ed Weaver Construction and Brasfield Construction in the Jackson, TN area. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union in Jackson, the American Legion Post 90, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1848 in Jackson. Mr. Lemons was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Katherine Capell. He is survived by his wife, Polly Vaughn Lemons; one daughter, LaVon Lemons Jones and husband, Doug, of Henderson, TN; one son, Albert Steven Lemons and wife, Leah, of Henderson; three sisters, Pearl Lemons Rogers and Betty Faye Lemons, both of Ripley, TN, and Diane Lemons Seat of Gates, TN; three brothers, Wesley Lemons and Billy Ray Lemons, both of Ripley, and Frank Lemons of Gates; and four grandchildren, Jason Alan Jordan, Ashley LaVon Isbell, Brandy Paige Lemons and Luke Albert Lemons. Services were at 11 a.m. on Fri., Aug. 5th, at the Casey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Bray officiating. Burial followed in Finger Cemetery. Casey Funeral Home of Henderson was in charge of the arrangements. ................ THERESIA ANN WHITWORTH, age 51, of Selmer, TN, passed away on July 30, 2005, at her home. She was disabled. Ms. Whitworth was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Lucille Wakefield Whitworth. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Services were at 1 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 3rd, at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Brad Austin officiating, and also at 3 p.m. on Thurs., Aug 4th, at Watkins & Son Funeral Home in Parma, MO.
