    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Nov. 24, 2004 JEFFERY WAYNE KIRBY, 60, of Bethel Springs, TN, died on Nov. 11, 2004 at his residence. He was a Nuclear Medical Technician at Veterans Medical Center, a member of the McNairy County Historical Society, and a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy. Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his father. Mr. DuWayne Kirby. He also leaves behind his mother, Alice Anderson White of Jackson, MS, one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Kirby of Leslie, AR; two sisters, Lynn Eubanks of Jackson, and Rebecca Mayo of Bethel Springs; and two grandchildren, Rainen Kirby Morris and Zoe Kirby Morris. A private memorial service for immediate family members was held. ............. PATRICIA M. CHILDERS LIPFORD, 61, of Adamsville, TN, died on Mon., Nov. 15, 2004 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, TN. Mrs. Lipford was the McNairy County Circuit Court Clerk Secretary during the 20 year term of her husband. She was a member of Solitude Freewill Baptist Church in the Leapwood Community. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arizona Plunk Childers. Mrs. Lipford is survived by her husband, Allen Lipford of Adamsville. She also leaves behind her father, Herschel Childers of Adamsville, one daughter, Becky Mathis of Cordova, TN, two sons, Jeff Lipford of Selmer, TN and Kevin Lipford of Adamsville, two sisters, Cathy Hamm of Crump, TN and Nan Rogers of Adamsville, one brother, Junior Childers of Adamsville, and five grandchildren, Carlee Lipford, Stone Lipford, Colby Mathis, Colton Mathis and Tyler Mathis. Funeral services for Mrs. Lipford were held on Nov. 18th at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Adamsville with Billy Mitchell and Scott Melson officiating. Christy Robertson delivered the eulogy. Burial followed at Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville. ............. ARELLIA FAYE ERVIN CHASE, 65, of Bolivar, TN, died Sun., Nov. 14, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Mrs. Chase was the widow of George Samuel Chase who died May 4, 1988. She was a retired psychiatric aide supervisor at Western Mental Health Institute for 17 years, a private duty nurse for 18 years, and she worked part-time at Cohn's & Wood & Miller Department Stores. Mrs. Chase was born Mar. 9, 1939 in Hornsby, TN, the daughter of Mary Viness Herriman Smith of Bolivar and the late William Buford Ervin and lived here all of her life. She was active with the Hardeman County Democratic Party for many years and received a work-related commendation from Ray Blanton while at WMHI. She was a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church and attended Bethel Springs Church of God. Services were at 3 p.m. Tues., Nov. 16th at Shackelford Funeral Home Directors Bolivar Chapel with Don Goodrum and David Cooper officiating. Burial was in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery. In addition to her mother, survivors include one daughter, Katherine J. Youngblood of Savannah; two sons, Rev. Aaron Lynn Moss of Bethel Springs, TN and Anthony G. Moss of Saulsbury; one sister, Margie Vernell Harbin of Collierville; five grandchildren, Joseph Brandon Moos, Laura Caitlin Moss, Joshua Garron Moss, Hannah Brooke Moss and Jessica Erin Mott; and one gr-grandchild, Jathan Henry Mott. She was preceded in death by one son, Garron Wynn Moss and three brothers, Glynn, Wade, and Wayne Ervin. The family requests that memorials be directed to Lifeblood or the Bethel Springs Church of God. .............. WILLIAM CARL MUHUNDRO, 81, of Pocahontas, TN, died on Nov. 14, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was a member of Butlers Chapel Baptist Church near Chewalla, TN, a member of the Middleton Masonic Lodge, a World War I Navy Veteran and also a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America. Mr. Mohundro was preceded in death by his parents, George and Addla Null Mohundro. He leaves behind his wife, Mary Louise Mohundro, one daughter, Linda Austin of Bartlett, TN, one son, Larry Mohundro of Selmer, TN, three sisters, Minnie Jones, Leatha Stewart, and Jewel Woods, all of Walnut, MS, thirteen grandchildren and nine gr-grandchildren. Services were at 1 p.m. Tues., Nov. 16th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer with Bros. Larry Corder and Bobby Voyles officiating. Burial followed at Mathis Cemetery in Pocahontas. Pallbearers were Brad Austin, and Ryan Austin, Joey Baker, Kenny Mohundro, Ian Austin, Chip Baker and Josh Baker. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of all arrangements. GERTRUDE WHITTEN, 88, of Henderson, TN, died at her home on Fri., Nov. 19, 2004 in the Little Hatchie Community of Chester County. She was born and reared in the Little Hatchie Community, the daughter of the late Harmon Elza and Etta Maness Hurst. She attended schools in Chester County and in 1936 married Nathan Elver Whitten. They made their home in the same community all their married life where Mr. Whitten farmed. Mr. Whitten died in 1972. Mrs. Whitten was a member of the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Garland Whitten and wife Donna of Adamsville, TN and Charles Whitten and wife Polly of Jackson, and two sisters, Freddie Campbell and Cleon Tucker, both of Bethel Springs, TN. She also has three grandchildren, Robin Whitten, Todd Whitten and Dawn Whitten, and three gr-grandchildren, Wesley Whitten Blankenship, Cody Freeman, and Ashley Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Reggie Whitten, and four brothers, Vernard, Arnold, Harvey, and Cortez Hurst, and an infant daughter, Janice Etta Whitten. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Mon., Nov. 22nd at Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Elmer Weaver, Elder Charles Whitten, and Elder Doyle Hurst officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. ............... MAGGIE RUTH PATRICK was born in McNairy County, TN on July 16, 1920, the daughter of the late Charlie Barton and Pearl Hockaday Pounds. Mrs. Patrick was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church. She was retired from Harwood Manufacturing as a machine operator after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and a volunteer for the McNairy Regional Hospital Auxiliary with over 8,000 hours of service. She was united in marriage to George Patrick who preceded her in death. Mrs. Patrick passed from this life on Wed., Nov. 17, 2004 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah at the age of 84 years. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Patrick of Savannah and Loretto Gail Flatt of Adamsville, TN; two grandsons, Brian Patrick Dancer of Hendersonville, and Jeremy Patrick Flatt of Savannah. Services were held on Fri., Nov. 19th at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville with Chuck Castles officiating. Burial was in Shiloh National Military Cemetery. ............... VIVIAN ALENE MCINTYRE, 82, of Finger, TN died on Nov. 13, 2004 at McNairy Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Finger Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert McIntyre and Ollie Pearl McCann McIntyre, and one sister, Helen McIntyre. Ms. McIntyre is survived by two sisters, Lessie McIntyre and Faye Talbott, both of Finger, and two brothers, Roy McIntyre of Bethel Springs, TN and J. R. McIntyre of Adamsville, TN. Services were at 1 p.m. Sun., Nov. 14th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce McIntyre officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Finger. ............... SADIE L. RICHARDSON, 74, of Ramer, TN died on Nov. 14, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was an employee of Brown Shoe Company and a member of Falcon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, S. E. (Doc) Richardson, her parents, Buford and Willie Mae Carter, one brother, Dwight Carter, and one son, Tommy Richardson. Mrs. Richardson leaves behind two daughters, Gwen Gurley and Rita Baswell, both of Corinth, MS, one son, Willie Richardson of Adamsville, TN, one sister, Ann Stephenson of Alamo, TN, nine grandchildren, three gr-grandchildren, and one very special friend, Pearl Wilson. Services for Mrs. Richardson were at 3 p.m. Nov. 16th at Falcon Baptist Church with mark Hoover and Smiley Mills officiating. Burial was at Falcon Cemetery in Selmer, TN. ............... REV. B. C. WILLCUTT, 87, of Selmer, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thurs., Nov. 18, 2004 at Tri-County Convalescent Home in Adamsville, TN, where he has been lovingly cared for following a stroke 3-1/2 years ago. He was born near Birmingham, AL where he lived, met and married his beloved wife of 66 years, Zelona, better known as Honeycutt. His calling to the ministry dates back many years. In the middle thirties, when radio was new and cars scarce, his ministry was well known in Alabama and parts of Mississippi through his daily radio broadcasts featuring his singing family and his message of Salvation. Because of gas rationing, yet the availability of air fuel, he purchased an airplane, got his pilot's license and became known as "The Flying Parson". His radio work, the GMC bus, big-top tent, and plane provided the unique ministry slogan, "The Gospel on Wheels, On the Air, and In the Air". Health problems curtailed his evangelistic ministry, and he then went into church planting and pastoral duties for several churches before coming to Tennessee in 1961 to pastor Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for the next 27 years. He continued to preach following his retirement and held many int erim pastorates. During these years, he served in many capacities in the Shiloh Area Baptist Association, member of Union University Pastor's Conference, and was a charter member of the McNairy County Hospital Chaplin's Associate where he served for 30 years. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Rev. Willcutt was preceded in death by his life Companion, Zelona, his parents, Rev. C. C. and Cora Willcutt, four brothers, two sisters, and two gr-grandchildren. He is survived by four devoted daughters, Zecora Sanders of Sheffield, AL, Hilda Landers of Mobile, AK, Lorraine Henley of Selmer, and Brenda Thon of Franklin, TN, two brothers, Edward Willcutt of Zachary, LA, and James Willcutt of Charleston, SC and one sister, Virginia Johnson of Mesa, AZ, fourteen grandchildren and twenty gr-grandchildren. His "home-going" celebration was held at 2 p.m. Sun., Nov. 21st at Shackelford Funeral Home with Rev. Jetta Forsythe officiating, assisted by Rev. Ray Burks and Rev. Mike Holloway. His five grandsons, two grandsons-in-law, and one gr-grandson served as pallbearers. His sons-in-law were honorary pallbearers. Burial followed at Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastview. ............... VIOLA BROWNING WARD of McNairy County entered into eternal joy on Nov. 15, 2004 at her residence in the presence of family. Mrs. Ward was committed to her Lord, church, community, and family. She was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist where she served and held membership for 86 years. She was active in the Lawton Community and was awarded the 1998 Hermitage District Ruritan of the Year award for her community service. She found great joy in Bible study and flower gardening. Born Feb. 26, 1905 to the late R. L. and Nettie Browning, she was united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1923 to Charlie Troy Ward until his death in April 1983. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roscoe and Enloe Browning, and an infant son. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Templeton, grandchildren, Jimmy Templeton (Rebecca) and Linda Frost (Robert), gr-grandchildren, Angela Flatt (Joe), Jai Templeton, Torrey Templeton and Michelle Frost, gr-gr-grandchildren, Gracie and Alex Crane. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Nov. 17th with internment in the church cemetery with Charles Castles and Jai Templeton officiating.
