On further examination of the writings on what is shown of this letter, it appears to me that it was posted from Wm. Wilborne Esquire. I did a lookup of the McNairy Co., census of 1840 and found a William Wilbourne (also a Lewis Willbourn).. Texas doesn't show an index on Ancestry.com for 1840, but I found a Sarah B. Barret in Nacogdoches Co., TX. (very close to Marshall TX., in San Augustine County) on the 1850 census. She was 59 years old, born in VA., with two males in the home: John Baret 31 born in VA., Lyars Baret 19 born in VA., and one young female, Elizabeth Ealantz? age 8 born in TX. Another Sarah Barret is found in this same county in 1850, but she was only 2 years old and the letter is said to be dated 1845 (three years before she was born). I also found tow Barrett household's listed in McNairy Co., in 1840: Nathan Barrett and William Barrett. Hope this helps someone if they are connected to any of these parties.
