Evelyn Thanks for the info. There was a Adaline Brown listed in the will of my ggggrandfather, John Bowers, the will dated Oct. 18, 1848, in Franklin Cty., TN. Adaline is the 2nd wife of Abraham Custer, his 1st wife was Margaret Bowers, daughter of John, also listed in the will as the wife of Abraham, Margaret is listed in the mortality schedule for Franklin Cty. died Jan. 22, 1850. Witness to the will were Henry Sewell, Squire B. Baster , Simpson Sewell. I'm still trying to put the pieces together, must be a connection. I do suspect Mr. >>>Crum might be Custer. Becky
