I received this message from another Harris researcher. These are not my lines, but possibly someone else from the McNairy Co. List can help her. My Harris family went from Henrico Co., VA (early 1600s) to Prince Edward Co., VA (1700s) to Maury Co., TN (early 1800s) to McNairy Co., TN (mid-1800s). They never migrated through North Carolina. There are 2 or three other separate Harris families in McNairy Co., TN that are not related to me. I think some of them came from North Carolina. The one I am trying to find now is: Hixey Harris who married Pinkney Haltom in NC and came to Hardeman CO TN in 1855 and settled in Deanburg TN (Now Chester CO TN). I have found the will of Littleton Harris of NC and it shows Hixey was his dtr. NOW my problem is WHO is Littleton's Father?? They were in Montgomery Co NC. The wife of Littleton was Temperance Williamson. Other children:Nancy = Joel Hearne, Sally = Matthew Morgan, Priscilla = Thomas Taylor,, Margaret = D.W.
