Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed. Mar. 2, 2005 CHARLES FREEMAN JONES, 76, of Selmer, TN passed away on Feb. 9, 2005, at McNairy Regional Hospital. He was a member of Union Grove Unite Methodist Church, a retired saw smith owner, and a United States Marine Veteran of World War II. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents Lee Elihu and Mary Lillian Michie Jones. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jones; three sons, Carl Douglas Jones of CA, John David Jones of Little Rock, AR, and Tommy Lester Jones of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren and eight gr-grandchildren. Services were Sat., Feb. 12th, at 1 p.m. at Union Grove United Methodist Church with John Holcomb and Robert Jetton officiating. Burial followed at Union Grove Cemetery in Selmer. PAUL GIBSON LANDRETH, 88, of Adamsville, TN, passed away on Feb. 24, 2005, at Tri-County Convalescent Home. He was a 50-year Mason in the Adamsville Lodge #338 of the Free and Accepted Masons. Mr. Landreth was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Rebecca Harris Landreth. He is survived by his wife, Sara Leath Landreth, of Adamsville. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and a waitress at Hagy's Catfish Hotel. Mrs. Bickley was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Alexander and Maggie O. Farris Eaves; her husband, Claude Bickley; and one sister, Mable Ashe. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Plunk and Tommy McClain of Michie; one sister, Willie Pearl Wheeler of Michie; and six grandchildren. LEONARD, 57, of Selmer, TN, passed away on Feb. 17, 2005 at his residence. He was a member of Bethel Springs First Baptist Church ad owner/operator of 45 Mart. Mr. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bruce, Sr. and Thelma Jewel Hockaday Leonard and one brother, John Robert Leonard. He is survived by seven sisters, Patie McCallister and Lyda Myatt of Noxapater, MS, Elizabeth King and Shirley Mullins and husband Billy of Selmer, Brenda Horton of Bethel Springs, TN, Betty Ward and husband Jeff of Jackson, TN; and one brother, R. B. Leonard, Jr. and wife Doris of Selmer. Services were Sat., Feb. 19th, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer with James Towery officiating. RUBY EDNA SEELEY WEIR, 89, passed away Feb. 25, 2005, at Maplewood Health Care Center in Jackson, TN. She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Arthur Hall and Sarah Ellen Davis Seeley. She attended schools in Chester County and in 1935 was married to Vernon Weir. They made their home in the Mason Wells Community of Madison County all their married life where Mr. Weir Farmed. Mr. Weir died in 1991 and she continued to make her home in Mason Wells until 1999. She was a member of the Big Springs Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and working in her flowers. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Weir and wife Jane and Joe Weir of Beech Bluff; three daughters, Patsy Ruffin of East Cape, IL, Mary Lou Warren and husband Sherman of Beech Bluff and Linda Goodrum and husband Clarence of Hornsby, TN; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen gr-grandchildren; and a sister Nell Dunn of Henderson, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Weir in 1991; a son, Jimmy Weir in 1994; a gr-grandson, Brandon Weir in 1991; four brothers and one sister. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, from the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Montgomery officiating with burial to following a Big Springs Cemetery in Madison County. She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Gallaher of Jackson; one granddaughter, Cindy Bennett and husband Rick of Germantown, TN; and two gr-grandchildren, Amanda Bennett and Curt Bennett of Germantown. He is survived by two daughters, Dianna Griffin and husband, Leon of Michie, and Donna Keltner of Russellville, KY; one son, Jim Rickman and wife Bettye of Michie; five grandchildren, Jason Keltner, Jeff Rickman, Alex Keltner, Amber Griffin, Christina Head and two gr-grandchildren, Jackie Keltner, and Tristin Keltner.
