    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Sept. 29, 2004 MARVIN QUINN HAND, 86, of Escondido, CA, died on Sept. 13, 2004. He was born and reared in Chester County, graduated Chester County High School in 1936. He was the son of the late William Zed and Amanda Ann Plunk Hand. Mr. Hand moved to California in 1942 to work for Howard Hughes on the Spruce Goose, a wooden flying cargo carrier. He then worked as a mechanist for Rockwell International. Mr. Hand was a builder and property developer in San Diego and Victorville area. He was an avid supporter of the McNairy County Historical Society. He was a member of the Hesperia Leisure League. He sang with the Leisure League Boys and was a stand up comedian. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Rainey Hand, two sons, Ervin Hand and Ray Hand, and one daughter, Linda hand. Mr. Hand is survived by one son, Roy Hand of San Diego, CA, seven grandchildren, ten gr-grandchildren, and one gr-gr-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Sept. 23rd at the Casey Funeral Home Chapel with John Talbott and Kevin Hand officiating. Burial followed at the Henderson City Cemetery. ........................... EUNICE BARNES CONAWAY, 90, of Chewalla, TN, died on Fri., Sept. 24, 2004 at East Texas Medical Center. Mrs. Conaway was a retired machine operator, member of the First Baptist Church in Sheffield, AL, White Shine and Eastern Star. Mrs. Conaway was preceded in death by her husband, John Cecil Conaway, and her parents, J. C. And Tabitha Burrow Barnes. She is survived by one son, John Conaway and his wife Nancy of Canton, TX, one grandson, John C. Conaway of Little Rock, AR, and one brother, J. C. Barnes of Memphis, TN. Graveside services were held on Tues., Sept. 28th at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chewalla with Maurice Pinkston officiating. Shackelford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ............................ MAGGIE RUTH DUNAWAY, 87, died on Sept. 23, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Dunaway attended Rose Creek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dunaway was preceded in death by her husband James Marshall Dunaway, parents Forebes M. And Mary E. Russom Hicks, brothers Albert Hicks and Oliver Hicks, sisters Gladys Cooper, Grace McGee, and Lora Roten. She is survived by three sons, James Eugene and wife Joyce Dunaway, Jerry Wayne and wife Barbara Dunaway, and Teddy and wife Dorothy Dunaway, all of Selmer, TN; three daughters, Patricia Ann Lovelace of Whiteville, Brenda McCann and friend Tim of Corinth, and Reba Faye and husband George Spelling of Muscle Shoals, AL; nineteen grandchildren and 28 gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Sat., Sept. 25th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer. Burial followed at the Falcon Cemetery in Selmer, TN. ................................................................... ROGER DALE DAVIS, 54, of Selmer, TN, died on Sat., Sept. 25, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Mr. Davis was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Selmer. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Theresa Davis, one son, Ricky Dale Davis of Selmer, three sisters, Helen Kennedy of Berwyn, IL, Rita Cosby of Selmer, and Ruby Britt of Selmer. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 28th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer. Burial followed at the Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville, TN. ................................................................... LOCKE MAE WILLIAMS, 91, died on Sept. 23, 2004 at McNairy Regional Hospital. Mrs. Williams was a retired factory worker for Brown Shoe Company. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Williams, her parents, Dee Williams and Alga Sweat Williams, sisters Vestie Dancer, and Laverne Knight, brothers Raymond Kiser, R. A. Kiser and Wilford Kiser. She is survived by one daughter, Artie Forsythe of Selmer, four sisters, Vallie Helton, Flaye Moore, Maylene Nold, and Ruby Whitaker all of Selmer, three brothers, Alford Kiser, Dennie Kiser, and L. D. Kiser all of Selmer, three grandchildren, eleven gr-grandchildren, and seven gr-gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 25th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer. Burial followed at Lake Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethel Springs, TN. ................................................................... JAMES KILLINGSWORTH, 78, died on Sept. 18, 2004 at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City, LA. Mr. Killingsworth was a member of Meek's Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Killingsworth is the son of Jim Killingsworth and Carrie Pounds Killingsworth Horton, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his two sons, Johnny Killingsworth of Centerville, LA and Barry Killingsworth of Dallas, TX, two daughters, Margaret Killingsworth of Gleason, TN and Denise Rogers of Vina, AL, one half-brother, Richard Horton of Corinth, MS, one sister, Ruby McDaniel of Union City, two half-sisters, Bonnie Barnes of Adamsville and Melba Helton of Stantonville, nine grandchildren, and six gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 22nd at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Adamsville. Burial followed at the Mt.
