She was a member of Bethel Springs Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Columbus and Bessie Mae Clayton Kennedy; her husband, Noble Shelby; a sister, Utillia Tucker; and a brother, Robert Eugene Kennedy. She is survived by two sons, David Lee Shelby and Ernest Dwight Shelby, both of Selmer; and a sister, Helen Duck of Scotts Hill. She had three grandchildren and four gr-grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sun., Apr. 11th at Scotts Hill Pentecostal Church, with Minister Jeff Young officiating. Burial followed at Scotts Hill Pentecostal Church Cemetery. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, and a sweet sister. She is survived by her husband, James Vernon King; two daughters, Rita Price of Rienzi, MS and Patsy Ann Taylor of Darlington, SC; three sons, Kenny David King of Bethel Springs, Jerry Brian King of Guys and Timothy Durrell King of Selmer; four sisters, Opal Pike of Burnsville, MS, Mary Jones of Olive Branch, MS, Judy Davis of Corinth, MS, and Rachel Spence of Southaven, MS; and five brothers, Jake Hodum of Judas, MS, Travis Hodum of Bristol, Eugene Hodum of Memphis, Wayne Hodum and Danny Hodum both of Corinth, MS. She had three grandsons, five granddaughters, and two gr-grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tues., Apr. 13th at Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Robbins officiating. Burial followed at the Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery. ............. EDWARD MALLARD SPENCE, 89, of Adamsville, died Wed., Mar. 31, 2004. He was retired from Sperry-Univac in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Spence, the husband of Marie Spence, leaves a sister, Claybelle Thomas of Lake Oswego, OR, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held on Apr. 2nd with the Rev. Carl J. Hood officiating. Interment was in Adamsville Cemetery in Adamsville. ........... Mrs. Hundley died on Apr. 3, 2004 at the residence in Selmer. She was born on June 11, 1905 in Madison County, the daughter of the late James Harvey and Florence Ida Jones Garey. She was retired manager of Hundley Grocery Store. She is survived by two daughters, June H. Taylor of Selmer and Hope Hudson of Jackson; five grandchildren; nine gr-grandchildren; and five gr-gr-grandchildren. Mrs. Hundley was preceded in death by her husband, J.O. "Jim" Hundley. Arrangements were made by George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel in Jackson. .............. JIMMY MOORE of Selmer, 61, died Apr. 7, 2004 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Mr. Moore was a truck driver for JR Trucking in Perkinston, MS. He was a member of Thrift Haven Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Orland Moore; and his mother, Thelda Faye Hopkins Moore. He is survived by a companion, Diane Fisher of Counce; two daughters, Kellie Ann Boggs of Bethel Springs and Susan Michelle Walker of Finger; two sons, Jamie Moore of Silsbee, TX and Nicky Moore of Selmer; and two sisters, Zilphia Blanton and Carolyn Harris, both of Selmer. He had nine grandchildren. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sat., Apr. 10th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Scott Kenis officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Site Cemetery in Selmer. .............. DALE DAWSON (D.D.) FERGUSON of Selmer, 80, died Apr. 6, 2004 at McNairy Regional Hospital. Mr. Ferguson was a retired UDSA District Conservationist. He had a Masters Degree from Mississippi State University. He was a former Air Force B025 Pilot. He was a member of Selmer First Baptist Church and former deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member and treasurer. He was preceded in death by his father, Ell Ferguson; his mother, Lillie Free Ferguson; a sister, Ruby Patterson, and three brothers, Aron D. Ferguson, J. T. Ferguson, and Raymond Ferguson. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Ferguson; a son, Glenn Ferguson of Selmer; three daughter, Paula Misenhimer, Kay Donaldson and Molly Cheshier, all of Selmer; and three sisters, Ruthie Logan of Bruce, MS, Bertis Mayhan of Pittsboro, MS, and Wilma Boatner of Florence, MS. He had seven grandchildren, Lori Donaldson Knerr of Nashville, Jason Misenhimer of Adamsville, Brent Ferguson of Finger, Jennifer Misenhimer Smith, Brian Ferguson, Whitney Cheshier and Reed Cheshier, all of Selmer; and four gr-grandchildren, Sam Summers of Nashville, Collin Misenhimer of Adamsville, Megan Smith and Trent Smith, both of Selmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry B. and Attrice C. Isbell Flowers; a sister, Ruby I. Bolin; and a brother, Lavern Russom. She is survived by three sons, Waymon Hatch of Granite City, IL, Marty L. Hatch of Bethalto, IL, and Gary C. Sellers and wife Julie of Highland, IL; a sister Pearlene M. Burial followed at Michie Cemetery in Michie. .............. JAMES LEONARD MORRIS of Henderson, 77, died Apr. 6, 2004 at VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was born in McNairy County, the son of the late Rufie and Lexie Lofton Morris. He went to school in McNairy County and at Pinson High School. He was in the U. S. Army from 1944-1946, and served as a medical technician in Seoul, Korea. He was married to Lois Hunter in 1947. He farmed for a short time, then they moved to Jackson, where he worked at Jackson General Hospital. He lived in Michigan for a while and worked as a custodian at Michigan State College. He had been disabled for the past 30 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lois Marie Hunter Morris; a son, Steve Morris of Henderson; and two daughters, Barbara Robertson and husband Steve of Pinson and Brenda Gail Guzzo and husband, Pete of Jackson. He had four grandchildren, and two gr-grandchildren. Services were held at Casey Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Apr. 8th, with Bro. Charles Ward officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in McNairy. .............. DANIEL EUGENE BOLES of Memphis, formerly of Selmer, 56, died Sat., April 10, 2004 at Methodist Hospital Central in Memphis. Mr. Boles was an air conditioning technician for Morgan Air Conditioning Co. He was Baptist in belief. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jo Ann Boles of Memphis; two sons, Mr. Daniel Boles, Jr. and Mr. Robert Morton Boles, both of Memphis; four daughters, miss Linda Boles, Mrs. Tammy Galloway, Miss Danielle Boles and Miss Reba Boles, all of Memphis; two brothers, Mr. Joseph Boles of Memphis and Mr. Don Boles of Selmer; and two sisters, Miss Debra Boles of Corinth, MS and Miss Carol Boles of Memphis.
