She was a retired nurse's assistant at Western Mental Health Institute and a member of Fourth Street Church of Christ. Services took place at 3 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 31, at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville. Officiating the services was Minister Malcom George. Pallbearers were Jay Redmon, Kevin Redmon, Chad Gary, Adam Hicks, Carey Stephens and Don Mitchell. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leonard Stephens, her parents, John C. and Maude Hutcherson Mitchell, and two brothers, O. V. Mitchell and Hal Mitchell. She is survived by five daughters, betty Rogers of Atlanta, Ga., Katy Redmon and Patsy Stephens both of Selmer, and Brenda Stephens and Peggy Richardson both of Savannah, two sons, Bobby Stephens of Selmer and Eddie Stephens of St. Petersburg, Fla., three brothers, John L. Mitchell of Henderson, F. C. He was Plant Manager for Kellwood Manufacturing for 10 years, then at Harwood Mfg. For 2 years. He then formed his own company. He graduated from Livingston High School and attended Tennessee Tech. Services took place at 3 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 4, 2000, at Adamsville First United Methodist Church. Burial was held at Adamsville Cemetery. Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Sofia Wolfbeiss ward of Adamsville, one daughter, Dede Ward Casteel, two sister, Malise Beerman of Lakeland, Fla., and Juanita Webb of Nashville, two brother, A. R.
