    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Wednesday, April 28, 1999 EDITH HURST, age 78, died on Tues., Apr. 20, 1999 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of heart failure. She was a retired waitress from Dobbs House, Inc., of Memphis. She was a member of Selmer First Presbyterian Church, and loved volunteering her time to help others. Services took place a the Shackelford Chapel in Selmer on Thurs. Apr. 22 at 11 am. Burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Selmer. Officiating the services was Minister Craig Krueger. Pallbearers were Carroll Graham, Mike Graham, Frank Milligan, Scott Milligan, Chris Milligan, and Kevin Milligan. Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by her parent, John and Cora Davis Young. She is survived by her husband, Norvis Hurst, brother, William Young of Chicago, IL, daughters, Nancy Milligan of Matthews, NC, Charlotte Harris of Memphis, grandchildren Scott Milligan, Mike Graham, Chris Milligan, and Kevin Milligan, and grandchildren, Charlie Graham, Grady Milligan, Anna Graham, Troy Milligan, and John Graham. Apr. 18, 199, at Jackson General Hospital. Mr. Thompson was born in Levole, West Virginia. He moved to Cicero, IL as a young man and worked at Foraging Mill, a steel industry. He later worked as a home builder until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Thompson moved to Chest County in 1984. Services took place at 2 pm on Wed., Apr. 21, at Leon Johnson Funeral Home. Burial was held at Sweetlips Cemetery in Henderson. Officiating the services was Rev. Lambeth Woodward. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by parents Julie Irene Brown Thompson and Roy Thompson and one son, Dewayne Edward Thompson. Mrs. Hays was a member of Fourth Street Church of Christ, and a Selmer Senior Citizens member. Mrs. Hays was retired from Nesbitt's cleaners of Houston, Texas. Services took place at the Shackelford Chapel at 1 p.m. on Fri., Apr. 23. Burial was held at the Mars Hill Cem. In Adamsville. Officiating the services were Ministers Malcolm George and Randy Mead. Mrs. Hays was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence V. Woodward and Sally Smith Woodward. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn McFadden of Webster, Texas, and Sandra Berry of Shafter, Calif., and two sons, Robert Hill of Tomball, Texas, and Gary Hays of Selmer, two sister, Maxine Dickey of Selmer, and Barbara Blankenship of Henderson, as well as two brothers, Guy Woodward of Henderson, and Billy Woodward of Jackson. Mrs. Robison was a homemaker and member of Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was born and reared in Union City, Obion County. She attended school in Obion County and was employed by Brown Shoe Company in Union City. In 1947 she was married to William Hayes Robison, and they made their home in Union City, and later in Detroit for 10 years. In 1966, she returned to the Chester and McNairy County area. She was a member of the Harmony Home Demonstration Club. Services took place at 11 a.m. on Sat., Apr. 24 at Casey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery of McNairy County. Officiating at the services were Pastor Ken Tucker and Rev. Bobby Barnes. She is preceded in death by her husband, William h. Robison, one son, Gary Robison, and her parents Alvin H. and Katie Grubbs Rawdon. Mrs. Robison is survived by two daughters, Annette Evans of Henderson, and Kay Tucker of Elyria, Ohio, and one brother, Thomas Rawdon of Rhode Island. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> J. B. BERRYMAN, age 84, of Essary Springs, died Thurs., Apr. 22, 1999, at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis. Mr. Berryman was a retired production worker with the Bolivar Tannery, where he had worked for 24 years. He was born on May 21, 1914, in Alcorn County, Miss, and moved to Essary Springs at age seven. He also worked with Southern Railway, TVA, 12 years at Union Wholesale and drove a taxi. Mr. Berryman served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Essary Springs Church of Christ. Services took place at 3 p.m. on Sat. Apr 24, at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Bolivar. Officiating the service were Marvin Rainey and George Younger. Burial was held in Essary Springs Cemetery with Richard, Wayne, and Mitch Berryman, Dewey, Deon, and Ronnice Mercer serving as casket bearers. Serving as honorary casket bearers were Anthony, Josh, and Stephen Berryman. Mr. Berryman is preceded in death by his parents, John Riley and Lula Taylor Berryman. His is survived by his wife, Zora Kinney Berryman. In addition to his wife, whom he married on Feb. 21, 1948, Mr. Berryman is survived by three sons, Jimmie Wayne Berryman, Dennis James Berryman both of Ramer, and Michael Todd Berryman of Bethel Springs; six grandchildren and two gr-grandchildren. Services took place at 1 p.m. on Mon., Apr. 26, at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at Center Ridge Cemetery in Bethel Springs. Officiating the services was Minister Aaron Moss. Mrs. Pointer was preceded in death by two sister, Wilma Clark and Joe Hurst, One brother, George William Johnson. She is survived by her husband, George W. Pointer of Brownwood, Texas, four sisters, Mary L. Beavers of Hornsby, Janie Davis of Middleton, Dewrell Wiggins of Bethel Springs, and Margaret Long of Hopkinsville, KY, two grandchildren James Robert Hurley and Samantha D.
