Miss Littlefield, a lifetime resident of Adamsville, died Apr. 15, 2000 at Tri-Co. Convalescent Home, Adamsville. Burial will be in Adamsville Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Home in charge. She had been a long time member of First Baptist Church in Adamsville. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Ollie Littlefield. She leaves one brother, Mr. Hugh Wayne Littlefield of Selmer; five nieces, Anita Lou Newman of Savannah, Mary Ann Handy of Adamsville, Martha Bingham of Saltillo, Margaret Gardner of Jackson and Olivia Sibley of Nashville, one nephew, Greg Littlefield of Selmer, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Morus Littlefield. She was a graduate of Adamsville High School and also a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She was a retired Home Economics Teacher of 31 years and retired house Management Supervisor of Farmers Home Administration for 8 years. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Adamsville, to the late Wilma (Martin) and Lee Roy Smith. He died Tues., Apr. 11, 2000, in a Lufkin hospital. Mr. Smith was a retired machinist for Lufkin Industries. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Smith had been a resident of Lufkin for 37 years.
