Hi Barbara, I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post the obits and for your generosity. I'm also writing to make a suggestion. Are you familiar with the Rootsweb GenConnect boards? There is a place for posting obits for McNairy Co at: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tn/McNairyObits I don't know how McNairy Co is set up, but sometimes when a message is posted on the board, it automatically gets forwarded and posted on the corresponding mail list. However, some times they are not...it just depends on the person that maintains the board and the mail list. You could talk to the list owners about it if you wanted to know more. Even though the list is archived and can later be searched, some times I think people are unaware of this. I am not really sure how Rootsweb is set up but I believe it may be easier for people to search at the Gen Connect boards. I didn't mean to make this sound lengthy...but getting to the point....Would you mind posting them on the GenConnect boards also? You could just copy & paste and they would be in 2 places at once and easier for others to find later. If you decide to do this, I would first post to the GenConnect board and see if it automatically goes to the list...then there would be no need to post to the list. Rootsweb has a GenConnect board for every county in the US and also for numerous surnames. It seems they are used very little ...partly because people are unaware of them and partly because people use Family Treemaker GenForum more. I would like to see this changed.
