She was born in the Woodville Community of McNairy county daughter of the late Arlie Lafayette and Ollie Henson Whitten. She attended schools in McNairy County. She was married to Elmo Lofton in 1939. She worked at Salant & Salant and later Edwards Bag Co. in Jackson. Services took place at 1 p.m. on Sat., May 6, at Casey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at Chester County Memory Gardens. Officiating the services was Bro. Ben Flatt. Mrs. Lofton was preceded in death by one son, Larry Garland Lofton.
