We have a tin-type of a woman that we believe was taken about 1850-60. Written on the back of the tin-type is: W. D. Cobb, Bethel Springs, TN., #1, 198, But.(the rest of this word has flaked off.) We believe the woman on the tin-type is Margaret G. Wilson Cobb, wife of John V. Cobb and mother of W. D. Cobb. Can anyone help us regarding what the word But.. is? Or what the numerals 1 and 198 stand for? Thanks, Ann
