He was a bus driver for MATA, President of the Amalgamated Transit Union #213, and 32nd Degree Mason of Memphis Normal Chapter. Services took place at 3 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 15, 1999 at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at Falcon Cemetery in Selmer. Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Joan Hannah Barnes , one daughter, Michelle Barnes Lacy, and one son, Jeffrey Barnes all of Nesbit, Miss, one sister Pearl Wilson of Selmer, three brothers, James Warren Barnes, George Barnes, and Hubert Barnes all of Selmer and three grandchildren. >>>>>>>>>>>> MARTHA VADEEN WADE PORTER GROSS, 71, died on Mon., Sept. 13, 1999, at her residence of heart failure. She was a homemaker, a member of Eufaula Christian Church where she served as treasurer for two years, and a member of a local square dance club. Services took place at 2 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 18, at Liberty Church in Michie. Burial was held at Liberty Cemetery. Officiating the services was Minister Malcom George. Mrs. Gross was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Payton and Anna Rose (Marler) Wade, her first husband, William Porter, and two brothers, James Terrell Wade and Robert L. Wade. He was a Navy World War II Veteran, served in Pacific Theatre, and Admiral Nemitz Base in Guam. Services took place at 11 am on Sat., Sept. 18, at George A. Smith and Son North Highland Chapel in Jackson,. Burial was held at Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in Shiloh. Officiating the services was Minister Dr. Jerry N. Tidwell. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Claude A. and Edith Brown Jordan. He is survived by his wife, Johnny M. Jordan of Jackson, three daughter, Janice Jordan Schmeski of Crete, Ill., Claudia Jordan of Columbus, Ohio, and Beverly Jordan of Jackson, one sister, Arcilla Hamilton of Lansing, Ill., and one brother, W.
