Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., July 5, 2000 SUSIE ALMA WEST PHILLIPS, 95, of Adamsville died on June 28, 2000 at the Methodist healthcare in Selmer due to pneumonia. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church and held the occupation of a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walton Phillips. She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Littlefield of Stantonville and Olgie Hubbard of Adamsville, two sons, James Phillips of Adamsville and Charles Phillips of Crawfordsville, Ind., ten grandchildren, nineteen grandchildren (that's what it says???) and one gr-grandchild. Funeral services were held at the Shackelford Funeral Home on Fri., June 30. Mr. Damron was a native of McNairy county. He was a farmer and a member of Sand Hill Methodist church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Harriet Damron, eleven sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Damron of Selmer, two sons, Rev. G. R. Damron of Selmer, Mr. Willy Wayne Damron of Memphis, and one daughter, Alma Ed Pettis of Chicago, Ill. Funeral services were held at Grayson's Funeral Home in Corinth, Miss., on Sun. at 3 p.m. with Elder F. Gant officiating. He is survived by two suns, Clyde Ashe of Corinth, Miss., and Glen Ashe of Selmer, four brothers, Eathel Ashe of Selmer, Charles Ashe of Selmer, Robert Ashe of Stantonville, and Jerry Ashe of Selmer, his mother, Cora Hockaday Ashe of Selmer, and six grandchildren and three gr-grandchildren.
