    3. Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Oct. 27, 1999 BLUFORD MOORE, 85, died on Mon., Oct. 25, 1999, at McNairy Healthcare Center in Selmer of an aneurysm. He was a retired farmer. Services took place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Oct. 26, at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at Moore's Schoolhouse Cemetery in Selmer. Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his parents, Bluford and Maggie Moore. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Moore of Bethel Springs, one daughter Carolyn Young of Bethel Springs, two sons, Dennis and Nelson Moore both of Selmer, four grandchildren and two gr-grandchildren. >>>>>>>>>>> JESSIE CLAY "J.C." PICKETT, 72, died on Tues., Oct. 19, 1999, at Jackson General Hospital from complications following colon surgery. He was a logger, farmer, and a back hoe operator. He was born and reared in McNairy County near Hopewell, so of the late Albert Tale and Mary Elizabeth Crowe Pickett. He attended schools in McNairy County and in 1950 was married to Mae Helen Robertson of Henderson County. They made their home in the Sweetlips and Enville area, where Mr. Pickett farmed, worked in the Timber Business, Sawmill Business, and Back Hoe Operator. He had been ill for the past month. Services took place at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 21, at Casey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held at Sweetlips Cemetery in Chester County. Officiating the services were Ministers Bro. Jeremy Arnold, Bro. Rickey Tedford, and Bro. Matthew McAdams.
