Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Nov. 10, 1999 WILLIAM G. "BILL" HARRIS, 38, died on Tues, Nov. 2, 1999, at Bolivar Community Hospital in Bolivar of an auto accident. He was a brake press operator at Dover Elevator Co. In Middleton, a member and deacon of Antioch church of Christ, Eastview Ruritan Club, Eastview Volunteer Fireman, owned and operated Harris Taxidermy and member of Tennessee Taxidermy Association. Services took place at 2:30 p.m. on Thurs, Nov. 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at hope Cemetery in Selmer. Officiating the services was Minister Nat Evans. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father, Thurman Harris, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Guston Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Abe Lipford. He is survived by his wife, Gail Richardson Harris, his mother and stepfather, Martha and Johnny Riley of Corinth, Miss., his step-mother, Vierna Harris of Rienzi, Miss., two daughters, Emily Harris and Olivia Harris both of Ramer, one son, Adam Harris of Ramer, one sister Cathy Woods of Corinth, Miss., one half-sister Velda Harris of Corinth, Miss, one brother, Scott Harris of Kossuth, Miss., and two step-brothers, Johnny E. Riley of Elizabeth City, NC, and Stephen Spain of Rienzi, Miss. She died of a heart attack. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson. She was born and reared near Finger, McNairy County, daughter of the late H. Frank and Virginia Smith Tedford. She attended schools in McNairy County, and in 1930 was married to Albert Edward Weaver of Finger. They made their home in Finger where Mr. Weaver operated a general merchandise and appliance business until 1961. He later operated a laundromat in Henderson and was also a farmer. Mr. Weaver died in 1992. Mrs. Weaver made her home in Selmer near her daughter for the past 5 years. Services took place at 11 a.m. on Fri., Nov. 5, at Casey Funeral Home with burial at Chester County Memory Gardens. Officiating the services were Rev. Thomas Robinson and Rev. Howard Ketter. Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edward Weaver and her parents, H. Frank and Virginia Smith Tedford. She is survived by one son, Danny Weaver and his wife Phyllis of Hernando., MS, and one daughter Frances Weaver Hutcherson and husband John Howard of Selmer, three grandchildren, and four gr-grandchildren. >>>>>>>>>>> EARNEST RAY MILLER, 53, died on Nov. 2, 1999, of a sudden heart attack while he was at work. He was pronounced dead at Jackson General Hospital on arrival. He was a State Inspector for the Tennessee Highway Department, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Finger. He was born and reared in Adamsville, McNairy Co., son of Essie Mae Gray Miller and he late Leland Robert Miller. He attended schools in Adamsville and graduated Adamsville High School in 1964. In 1966, he was married to Sandra Hysmith of the Finger Community and they made their home in the Finger Community since that time. He was employed by Owen's Corning in Jackson for 14 years and for the past 10 years he was employed by the TN Highway Dept. In Bethel Springs as a Road Inspector. Services took place on Fri. Nov. 5, at 3 p.m. at the Casey Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Finger Cemetery. Rev. Raymond Hardin was the officiating minister. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his father, Leland Ray Miller and one son, Johnny Ray Miller.
