    3. Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Sept. 1, 1999 DANIEL CORNELIUS WEBB born Aug. 12, 1920 in Bemis. He was the son of Rev. Allen Guy Webb and Mandy Eakin Webb. In December 1941 he married Grace Tharp. He was the father of Doris Reece of Selmer and Daniel Cornelius Webb of Beaumont, Texas. There are four grandchildren; Charlotte Montgomery and husband Randy of Munford, Crystal Reece of Selmer, Coy Webb, USN, Jacksonville, FL, Cody Webb of Beaumont, Texas and one stepdaughter, Amber Miller of Beaumont, Texas. He has two gr-grandchildren; Candace and Lawrence Montgomery. He is survived by one brother Raymond Webb of Chattanooga and preceded in death by three brothers; Coy, Allen and Herbert. He was retired from the State of Tennessee. They had lived in Memphis 41 years but currently reside in Selmer. He was a charter member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Memphis and currently attending The Pentecostal 's of Bethel Springs. He died Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999 at Baptist East where he had been hospitalized following complications due to a recent stroke. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DORIS MARIE GREER, 69, died on Mon., Aug. 30, 1999, at home of cancer. She was a retired Vice President of Volunteer Bank, now Ban Corp Bank of Selmer and a member of Selmer First Christina Church. Services took place at 1 p.m. on Wed., Sept 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Selmer. Burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Selmer. Officiating the services was Minister James Adkins. Pallbearers were Glen Mutters. Terry Abernathy, Jim Harrison, Danny Ferguson, Troy Moore, and Lewis William Hubbert. Honorary Pallbearers were Donnie Strickland, Charlie Forsythe, Dr. Harry L. Peeler, Ed Metzer, Wayne Bolton, Paul Ervin, and John Wayne Surratt. Mrs. Greer was preceded in death by her husband, W. T. Greer and her parents, Homer G. and Era Havens Hubbert. She is survived by one brother, Lewis Homer Hubbert of Greensboro, NC, one daughter, Lynette Thomas, and three grandchildren, Jessica, Chelsea, and Matthew Bowen.
