    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper, Wed., Mar. 16, 2005 MARIE MCINTYRE HUNTER HAYES, 58, of Michie, TN, passed away on Mar. 12, 2005 at her residence. She was a member of North Corinth Baptist Church and was self-employed in home health. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra Hayes and Annie Bell Roten McIntyre; one sister, Mary Alice McIntyre; and one brother, W. O. McIntyre. She is survived by one daughter, Vickie Hunter of Tupelo, MS; two sons, Ricky Hunter of Savannah, TN and Shawn Hayes of Michie; one sister, Lorena Browder of Selmer, TN; and one grandchild. Services were Tues., Mar. 15th at 1 p.m. in Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Wages officiating. Burial followed at Moore's Schoolhouse Cemetery in Selmer. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in Charge of the arrangements. ............ HENRY PLUNK, 80, of Franklin, TN passed away on Mar. 10, 2005, at McNairy Regional Hospital. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and a retired member of the McNairy County Board of Education in maintenance. Mr. Plunk was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Luiza Plunk; his wife, Shirley Plunk; and one brother, David Plunk. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Banks and Gina Lambert of Selmer; two sisters, Beadie Floyd and Irma Huggins of Selmer; two brothers, Arbie Plunk of Selmer and Beard Plunk of Ramer, TN; five grandchildren and three gr-grandchildren. Services were Sun., Mar. 13th at 3 p.m. in Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Zolon Clayton officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery in Bethel Springs. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in Charge of the arrangements. ................... ALFRED LEON JONES, 80, of Franklin, TN, passed away on Mar. 10, 2005. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Wylie and Unetta Jones of Decatur County, TN. Survived by wife, Jane Gardner Jones of Franklin. Father of Howard Michael Jones of Franklin and Alan Lee Jones of Murfreesboro. Also Survived by grandsons, Christopher Alan Jones (Jonie) and Brian Lee Jones of Murfreesboro, gr-granddaughter, Alexis Ann Jones and gr-grandson, Blake Alan Jones of Murfreesboro. He was a County Agricultural Agent with the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service for 37 years in McNairy County, TN and also with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for 10 years in Nashville, TN. Memorial services are pending. DONALD (DON) P. DILL, SR was born Sept. 14, 1943 to William P. Dill and Mary Alice McConnell Dill in Warsaw, IN. He grew up and went to school in Wabash County IN. He spent four years in the United States Army and did tour of duty in Germany and Vietnam. In 1970, he married Gayle Chapin of Anderson, IN. They had five children, Stephanie and Joe of Anderson, IN, Donald and his wife of Chapman Lake, IN, Mark and his wife of Greensfield, IN, and Sharon and her husband of Bloomington, MI. Mr. Dill has a step-granddaughter and three grandchildren. Mr. Dill has two sisters, Virginia K. Coon and Brenda Ward, both of Savannah, TN, and a brother, Ted Dill of Wabash, IN, and several nieces and nephews in Indiana and Tennessee. He died on Feb. 22, 2005, at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, of natural causes. His wife is deceased since May of 1998. Mr. Dill worked at Broderick Steel in Munice, IN. He drove semi-tractor trailer for several years. He also worked in Goshen, IN at Conquest Manufacturing. Military services will be held on Mar. 18th with burial in National Cemetery in Marion, IN. ................. EVIE EVELYN PORTER SMITH, 77, of Bethel Springs, TN, passed away on Mar. 7, 2005, at her home. She was a member of Bethel Springs First Baptist Church and a retired factory worker. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Ardie and Pearl Stansell Porter. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Smith; one daughter, Shelia Cagle and husband Bobby of Bethel Springs; two sons, Don Smith and his wife Margie of Bethel Springs, and Ricky Smith and wife Dottie of Anderson, SC; four sisters, Ann Bennett and Betty Weaver of Finger, IN, Lurene Fualkner of Chewalla, TN and Wana Mae Redmond of Bethel Springs,; one brother, Arlin Porter of Henderson, TN; six grandchildren and four gr-grandchildren. Services were Wed., Mar. 9th at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with James Towery and Jerry Eggenberger officiating. Burial followed in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethel Springs. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in Charge of the arrangements. ................... Graveside service for GRACE I. ROSENBERGER, age 99, were Sun., Mar. 13th, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. at Chenoa Cemetery in Chenoa, IL with Rev. Joe Seese officiating. Mrs. Rosenberger died on Thurs., Mar. 10, 2005 at Gibson General Hospital in Trenton, TN. Parents were Ben Diffenderfer and Mary Ann Strother Diffenderfer. She was a homemaker and the widow of Bruce D. Rosenberger. Survivors are her son Bruce (Ruth) Rosenberger of Selmer, TN; grandchildren, Georgia (Terry) Jones of Rutherford, TN, Anita (Barry) Locke of Ramer, TN, Brian Rosenberger of Booneville, MS, and Brenda (John) Fugera of Lake Mary, FL; eight gr-grandchildren, Laura Grace Horner, Michael Hurt, Tyler Jones, Justin Locke, Sara Jo Locke, Daniel Anthony, Brenda Fugera, and Matthew Fugera. Proceeded in death by a son, Brian Dale Rosenberger and a grandson, Danny Rosenberger. Also preceded in death by five sisters, Grand nephews served as pallbearers. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of local arrangements. ..................... LOYD (BUCK) GREEN, 44, of Pocahontas, TN, died Sun., evening, Mar. 6, 2005 at Bolivar General Hospital. The husband of Connie Green, who survived, had worked at Yopp's Convenience Store for 3 years. Mr. Green was born in Memphis, TN on May 30, 1960, the son of the late Loyd Clifton Green and Martha Marie Jacobs Green. He lived in Memphis prior to moving to Pocahontas in the 1980's. He was an avid fisherman. Services were at 2:30 p.m. on Wed., Mar. 9th, at Shackelford's Chapel in Middleton. Burial followed at Middleton Cemetery. In addition to his wife, whom he married on July 26, 1991, survivors include two sons, Loyd Clifton Green III of California, and Howard Joseph Horn of Pocahontas, one sister, Martha Edwards of California, two brothers, Larry Green of Huntington and Bobby Green of Selmer, TN, six aunts, Grace Robinson of Pocahontas and Mary Pickard of Memphis, TN, Virginia Miller of Searcy, AR, Dorothy McCullen of Selmer, Bonnie Veech of Pocahontas, Connie Cornelius of Springfield TN and on uncle Henry E. Jacobs of Finger, TN, one niece and twelve nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Evelyn Moore. Before going to work for Yopp's he had worked for several years for the Cornelius Mill I Lumber Company. The family received friends and the Middelton Chapel on Wed., Mar. 9th from 9 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be directed to the American heart Association. ............. HERMAN STANLEY REECE, 72, of Saulsbury, TN, died Thurs., evening, Mar. 10, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville. The husband of Lillie Mae Reece, who survived, retired as a Master Sgt. From the US Air Force after 20 Years of service and was currently the golf course superintendent for the Hardman County Country Club. Mr. Reece was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Booneville, MS, son of the late Walter Lee Reece and Duell Maddox Reece and was raised in Memphis. He lived in Lompoc, CA, for many years and in Selmer, TN, for a time before making his home in Saulsbury in 1985. Mr. Reece was stated at Vandenberg Missile Base during his Air Force service and was a member and Secretary of Berlin No. 170 Masonic Lodge. He played music in cursing homes for 12 years and attended Saulsbury Baptist Church. Services were Su.n., Mar. 13th at Shackelford's Chapel in Bolivar with James Madden and Ressa Davis officiating. Burial was in Saulsbury Cemetery. In addition to his wife, who he married Jan. 2, 1988, surivivors include one son and his wife, Richard S. and Mary Reece of Federal Way, WA; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Albert Navarro of Melbourne, FL and two grandsons, Andrew and Liam Reece. He was preceded in death by his brother, W. D. Reece.
