Hi, I'm looking for any Civil War period photographs of 6th Tennessee enlisted men or any written descriptions of the uniforms of the 6th Tennessee. I am in discussion right now of trying to organize a reenactment unit that would accurately depict the 6th Tennessee. Any assistance any of you can give me would be a great help. Of particular interest to me is whether or not they wore regulation trousers or civilian trousers and what kind of shoes they wore. Did they wear brograns or were they able to get cavalry boots? From what little research I've managed to do, they were probably not well equipped, and were probably not very regulation. I understand the probably did not wear forage caps, but probably wore civilian slouch hats. Randle C. Beavers Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War University of Mississippi
