    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper July 28, 2004 ROBERT L. "BLUE" LOWRANCE of Selmer, 58, died on July 20, 2004 at Jackson Regional Hospital. Mr. Lowrance was an employee at Sawmill Furniture Co. in Selmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Vadine Lowrance. He is survived by his mother, Helen Mae Trout Lowrance of Selmer; four sons, Caery L. McCalvin of Hornsby, Robbie Lowrance, Jr. of Savannah, Craig Lowrance and David Lowrance both of Selmer; three sisters, Louise Yarbrough of Bethel Springs, Rosie Lee May of Selmer and Glenda Marie Trummer of Higgsbee, MO; and two brothers, Wilbur Lowrance and Johnny Lowrance, both of Bethel Springs. Mr. Lowrance also had thirteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thurs., July 22nd at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Sparks officiating. Burial followed at McCalips Chapel Cemetery in Selmer. ................ LESTER RAY BURNS of Corinth, 65, died on July 24, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Burns was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends. Mr. Burns enjoyed talking on his CB and watching sports on television. He was preceded in death by his father, J. L. Burns. He is survived by his mother, Johnnie Callins Burns of Corinth; a son, Chris Burns and wife Debbie of Booneville; a daughter, Regina Burns Derryberry and husband Tim of Ramer; a brother, Jimmy Dan Burns and wife Nancy of Gravel Hill; a sister, Daphne Johnson and husband O'Neal of Corinth; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah Derryberry and wife Ann, Joshua Derryberry, Jacob Derryberry, Janna Ericksen, Amy Ericksen, Tessa Ericksen, and Seth Burns; two gr-grandchildren, Joshua Derryberry and Braidon Derryberry; two uncles, Charlie Callins and wife Lou, Joe Callins and wife Juanita; six aunts, Lessie Pauley and husband Bill, Jean Derryberry, Emma Nell Pipes, Dorothy Bright, Magdalene Browder, Virginia King; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tues., July 27th at Magnolia Chapel of Memories with Minister Ronald Choate officiating and Charlie Browning giving the eulogy. Burial followed at Gravel Hill Cemetery. ................ DEWEY EUGENE "BUDDY" STEVENS of Savannah, 27, died on July 22, 2004 at McNairy Regional Hospital. Mr. Stevens was a roofer. He loved to play in the pool. He is survived by his parents, Billy Donald Stevens of Glen, MS and Mary Ann Edwards Stevens of Adamsville; his wife, Michelle Lynn Stevens; his step-son, Gunner Williams of Savannah; three sisters, Diana Bonds of Corinth, Theresa Hornbuckle and Martha McFee, both of Savannah; and five brothers, Jerry Wayne Edwards of Shefield, AL, Tony Little of Moscow, Jimmy Caldwell and Tracy Stevens, both of Savannah, and Bill Stevens of Corinth. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Sun., July 25th at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville with Hulon Terry officiating. Burial followed at Cromwell Cemetery in Shiloh. ................ LULA B LACEFIELD HINES of Selmer, 82, died on July 22, 2004 at a decedent's residence. Mrs. Hines was a homemaker and a member of Hunter's Chapel Full Gospel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Lee Hines; one son, Preston lee Hines: her parents, Richard Thomas and Emma Nell Callins Lacefield; three brothers, Forrest Lacefield, Ed Lacefield, and Thomas Lacefield; four sisters, Thelma Foster, Nina Lacefield, Jewell Butler and Emma Nell Lacefield. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Rachel Hines of Selmer; three grandchildren, Regina Swindle of Jasper, AL, Chris Basham and LeAnne Jones, both of Selmer; and six gr-grandchildren, Erin Johnston of Jasper, Cody Tull of Selmer, Katlyn Johnston of Jasper, Samantha Dillon and Jacob Jones, both of Selmer, and Jessica Swindle of Jasper. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sat., July 24th at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer with Jimmy Howell officiating. Burial followed at Hunter Cemetery. ................ MAYO WHITTEN of Selmer, 87, died on July 23, 2004 at McNairy Regional Hospital. Mrs. Whitten was an employee at Brown Shoe Co. She was also a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Rosie Rowland Hatch; her husband, Carl Whitten; a son, William Dorris (Bill) Whitten; three sisters; and six brothers. She is survived by a daughter Mary Lee Owen of Millington; a daughter-in-law, Millie Whitten of Selmer; three grandchildren, Phillip Owen, Rodney Owen, and Sonya Panych; and a step granddaughter, Brenda Hatley. Mrs. Whitten also has ten gr-grandchildren, three step-gr-grandchildren, and two gr-gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Mon., July 26th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Holloway officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Bethel Springs. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery Fund. ................ BOBBY W. BROWN of Adamsville, 57, died on July 22, 2004 at McNairy County General Hospital. Mr. Brown was employed as a Contractor-Construction. He is survived by his mother, Allie Bell Barnes Hubanks of Savannah; wife, Ruby Franks Brown of Adamsville; a sister, Brenda Kiddy of Savannah; and four brothers, Jerry Hubanks, Kenneth Hubanks, and Jimmy Hubanks, all of Savannah, and Vernon Hubanks of Adamsville. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sun., July 25th at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah. Burial followed at Neill Cemetery in Savannah. ................end Have a nice day! Barbara
