Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Mar. 1, 2006 ROSA RUTH RICE GOLLEHER, age 96, of Aledo, TX, and formerly of Selmer, TN, passed away on Feb. 17, 2006, at Verando Place in Weatherford, TX. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of Eastern Star, and a homemaker. Mrs. Golleher was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Flora Ellen Rice; her husband, Lloyd Golleher; five brothers and one sister. She is survived by one daughter Betsy Wilds of Aledo, TX Services were at 3 p.m. on Tues., Feb. 21st, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Pilcher officiating. Burial followed in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethel Springs, TN. Pallbearers were Jim Wilds, Josh Wilds, Daniel Wilds, Jim Holt, Michael Cleary, and Lucas Wilds. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. .................. GERALD MAXEDON, age 83 of Selmer, TN, passed away on Feb. 14, 2006, at McNairy County Health Care Center. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, and a farmer and heavy equipment operator. Mr. Maxedon was preceded in death by his parents, Alvah B. and Edith Hamm Maxedon, one daughter, Nancy June Maxedon Mulligan; one sister, Lila Koblentz; and four brothers, Bill, Virgil, Pitts, and Julian Maxedon. He is survived by his wife, Eva Pearl Barnes Maxedon; four sons, Bill Maxedon of Bethel Springs, TN, Gerald Van Maxedon, Jr., Jeff Maxedon and Jim Maxedon, all of Selmer; one sister, Ann Sweat of Selmer; one brother, Bob Maxedon of Selmer; eight grandchildren and six gr-grandchildren. Services were at 1 p.m. on Sun., Feb. 26th, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Hall officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Ramer, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. .................. MARY JO NORWOOD, age 65 of Ramer, TN, departed this life on Sun., Feb. 9, 2006, surrounded by her loving family at her home following a long and courageous battle with (PSP) Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Mary Jo was a retired cosmetologist, a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Ramer and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 270 in Corinth, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmit and Virdie Gurly. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, James Norwood; her daughters and sons-in-law, Tisa and Scotty Strickland, Tonya and Philip Reaves; and her pride and joy, five grandchildren, Cameron Ward, Raven Gudino, Haylee Gudino, Addison Westbrook, and Dusty Albarracin. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Ed Reynolds. Funeral services were Wed., Feb. 22nd at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer at 11 a.m. with Reverend Johnny Burns officiating. Burial followed in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethel Springs, TN. MARVIN AUSTIN, age 90 of Ramer, TN, passed away on Feb. 20, 2006, at Magnolia Regional Healthcare in Corinth, MS. He was a member of the Olive Hill Baptist Church and a farmer. Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maude Austin; his first wife, Lilly Mae Austin; his second wife, Beulah Mae Rowsey Austin; two sons, Billy and Harlon Austin; one son-in-law, Jimmy Hill; one step-son, Edward Rowsey; two brothers, Burton and Ellis Austin; one brother-in-law Richard Lindsay; and two sister, Nellie Gray and Bertha Lambert. He is survived by one daughter, Juanita Hill of Corinth, MS; one step-daughter, Barbara Polk and husband Bobby of Milton, FL; one son, Tommy Austin and wife Faye of Ramer; three step-sons, Johnnie Rowsey and wife Alice Faye of Savannah, TN, Jimmy Rowsey and wife Carolyn of Selmer, TN, and Sammy Rowsey and wife Mary of Corinth; one sister, Geraldine Lindsey of Corinth; 21 grandchildren, 33 gr-grandchildren, and several gr-gr-grandchildren. Services were at 1 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 22nd, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Taft Nethery officiating. Burial followed in Olive Hill Cemetery in Guys, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. .................. HAROLD DAVID HURST, age 68 of Selmer, TN, passed way on Feb. 21, 2006, at McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer. He was retired and a former Moose Lodge member. Mr. Hurst was preceded in death by his parents Loyce L. and Venice Hurst; and one brother, Howard Lee Hurst. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Katherine Williams and husband Danny of Guys, TN; two sons, John David Hurst and wife Phyllis of Selmer and Dwight David Hurst and wife Angie of Guys; two sisters, Hazel Teague and husband William of Ramer and Wanda McNeil of McNairy; one sister-in-law, Shirley Hurst of McNairy, TN; four brothers, Douglas Hurst and wife Betty of Hornsby, TN, Jerry Neal Hurst and wife Debbie of Enville, TN, Alva Dee Hurst of Adamsville, TN, and Eugene Hurst and wife Caroline of McNairy; two grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Services were at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 23rd, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Chris Kitchen and Randy Smith officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery in McNairy. Pallbearers were Dewayne Hurst, Steve Hurst, Allen Hurst, Jeff Hurst, Dusty Hurst, and Brandon Hurst. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. ..................
