Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper Wed., Feb. 1, 2006 COLEIGH MICHELLE GLADISH, age 17, of Selmer, TN, passed away on Jan. 27, 2006, at McNairy Regional Hospital. She was a Senior at McNairy Central High School, a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, and a member of the MCHS Choir and Jazz Cats. Miss Gladish was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Gladish; and gr-grandparents, E. T. and Elma Gladish and Carl and Delphia Milender. She is survived by her mother, Debra Lynn Matlock Gladish of Selmer; aunts, Amanda Matlock, Teresa Jones and Wanda Vires; an uncle, Blake Matlock; her boyfriend, Justin Wayne Lemons; and grandparents Katherine Matlock and Lonnie (Pee Wee) Matlock, both of Selmer, William Cleston Gladish of Morris Chapel and Mollie Monday of Counce, TN. Services were at 3 p.m. on Mon., Jan. 30th, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Falcon Cemetery in Selmer. LATOSHA LOUISE SHRUM was born Nov. 18, 1988, in Flint, Michigan. She was a Senior at McNairy Central High School, where she served as President of TGIG, and was a member of Jazz Cats, Madriglas, Drama Club and the National Honor Society. Latosha departed this life on Jan. 27, 2006, in Selmer, TN, at the age of 17 years, 2 months and 9 days. She is survived by her mother Tammy Lingo and companion Jeremy of Morrice, MI; her father Dan Shrum of Owossi, MI; a brother Danny Ray and fiancee Jess of Selmer, TN, an aunt, Misti Walk of Selmer; an uncle, Eric Walk of Selmer, cousins Shawntay, Riah, and Meghan Walk; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Sharon and Dennie Olsen of Selmer; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Don and Judy Lingo of Corunna, MI; maternal gr-grandmother, Laura Anderson of Owossi, MI; paternal grandparents, Ben and Linda Shrum of Owossi; paternal gr-grandmother, Ruth Crenshaw of Bloomfield, MI. ANNIE SUE NAYLOR ROBERTS, age 64 of Selmer, TN, passed away on Jan. 28, 2006, at her residence. She was a retired bank teller from BancorpSouth, and a member of the Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her father, Carl Naylor. She is survived by her mother, Pauline Lynch Naylor of Henderson, TN; her husband, Wayne Roberts of Selmer; one daughter, Dana Marik of Germantown, TN; one son, Robbie Roberts and wife Denise of Houston, TX; six sisters, Willodean Whitaker of Selmer, Doris Weaver, Joyce Beecham, Glenda Wilson, Kay Middleton, and Devena Frank, all of Henderson; three brothers, Frank Naylor and Ronald Naylor, both of Henderson, and Gary Naylor of St. Louis, MO; and five grandchildren, Siobhan Roberts, Jared Roberts, Kyle Roberts, Nicole Roberts and Andrew Marik. Services were at 11 a.m. on Tues., Jan. 31st, at Second Baptist Church in Selmer with Tony Polk and Blake Carroll officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Selmer. ABBIE JEWELL HUGGINS, age 83, of Adamsville, TN, passed away on Jan. 12, 2006, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN. She was a retired production worker and attended Christian Assembly Pentecostal Church in Adamsville. Mrs. Huggins was proceeded in death by her parents, Joe and Etta Yarbro, and husband, Cazie Huggins. She is survived by two daughter, Faye Rowsey and husband Johnny of Savannah and Pat Russell and husband Ernest of Selmer, TN; one son, Ronald Huggins and wife Cindy of Adamsville; three grandchildren, Vickie Littlejohn and husband Ronnie of Selmer, Diane Landreth and husband Eddie of Adamsville, and Tina Frazier and husband Mark of Savannah; six gr-grandchildren, Mistie Littlejohn and Krake Littlejohn of Selmer, Ashley Fralix and husband Jermaine and Seth Landreth, all of Adamsville, and Brooke Frazier and Colby Frazier of Savannah; and one step-son, Timmy Stanfield. FREDA ANN BROWDER, age 58 of Decaturville, TN, entered into eternal rest on Fri., Jan. 17, 2006, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was an active member of Center Point Holiness Church and she was a minister of the gospel for 42 years. Mrs. Browder was the daughter of the late Bud and Gertrude Tucker Phillips, and was predeceased by a sister, Jo Ann Phillips. Survivors include her husband of 37 years, James Edward Browder; one daughter, Lone Martin (Darren) of Milledgeville, TN; five sons, Randle Browder (Michelle), Billy Browder (Mecca), Phillip Browder (Becky) all of Decaturville, Joey Browder (Amanda) of Savannah, and Brandon Browder (Lisa) of Jacks Creek, TN; four sisters, Kinda Jackson, Linda Moss, Judy McClain, all of Decaturville, Carolyn Paige of Mississippi; a brother Don Phillips of Adamsville, TN; fifteen grandchildren. Funeral service was at Gary's Chapel Pentecostal Church in Decaturville at 3 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 29th, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Sharon Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. Ms. Pounds was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Willie Nixon Lain; one daughter, Anita Gail Pounds; and two sons, Don and Winston Pounds. She is survived by one daughter, Regenia Smith and husband David of Adamsville; one son, Carlos G. Pounds of Blytheville, AR; four grandchildren, Robert Pounds of Anchorage, AK, Laura Pounds of Monette, AR, Cory Pounds of Manila, AR, and Bridget Kiestler of Bethel Springs, TN; and nine gr-grandchildren. ROOSEVELT IRONS, JR., age 75 of Michie, TN, passed away on Jan. 23, 2006, at McNairy County Health Care Center. He made a confession in Christ at an early age and united with the Saulters Chapel Christian Methodist Church in Acton, TN, where he was a faithful member, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, a Steward, a Trustee and President of the Sand Hill Burial Association. He attended school in McNairy County, TN and was a retired employee of Coca-Cola Bottling Works in Corinth, MS. He was called into the ministry on June 10, 1979. Rev. Irons was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Sr. and Pearl Irons, one son, Charles Irons, two sisters, Dorothy Westbrooks and Stella Swinney, and four brothers, John H., Jimmy, George, and Jessie Irons. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Irons; four daughters, Earnestine Owens (John), Delois Luster (Danny), Shirley Pruitt (William), and Melody Greer; one son, Gerry Irons (Pearlene); one sister, Annie Pittman; and two brothers, Robert Irons (Della and Clyde Irons (Monia) Services were at 1 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 27th, at Saulters Chapel CME Church with Bishop Thomas L.
