    3. Appeared in the Wed., Jan. 18, 2006 ALLIE MAE ROBISON MANESS, age 95, of Finger, TN, passed away on Jan. 12, 2006, at her home. She was a member of the Rocky Knob Church, and avid gardener, and a homemaker. Mrs. Maness was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Isaiah and Mary Lilly Robison; her husband, Claud Maness; and two sisters, Edna Hampton and Eva Plunk. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Nell Frazier and husband Robert of Morris Chapel, and Glenda Moore and husband Nelson of Selmer; one son, Harold Maness and wife Janice of Finger; six grandchildren, Ronald Maness and Richard Maness of Finger, Bobby Maness of Pinson, TN, Sherry Smith of Bethel Springs, TN, Mike Moore of Selmer, TN, and Dana Moore of Nashville, TN; and five gr-grandchildren, Kevin, Leslie, Matthew, Nicholas, and Julie Smith. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 15th in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Evans officiating. Burial followed in Rocky Knob Cemetery in Finger. Pallbearers were Ronald Maness, Richard Maness, Bobby Maness, Mike Moore, Mark Smith, and Ricky Plunk, along with honorary pallbearer Warren Pollack. Shackelford Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements. ................... MERLE MARIE GRISWELL WATKINS, age 79, of Enville, TN, passed away on Jan. 11, 2006, at her home. She was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and a machine operator. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her parents, George Daniel and Daisy Barham Griswell; her husband, Leonard Watkins; two sisters, Maudie Brown and Monie Plunk; and five brothers, Brodie, Logan, Hillard, Hallie, and Arnold Griswell. She is survived by one daughter, Edith Hunter and husband Robert of Enville; one son, Lloyd Watkins and wife Brenda of Adamsville, TN; one grandson, Andy Watkins; two gr-grandchildren, Ethan Watkins and Sarah Watkins; and eight step-grandchildren, fifteen step-gr-grandchldren, and two step-gr-gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 14th in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Clark Culver officiating. Burial followed in the Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville. ANNALEE WHEATLEY, age 83, of Henderson, TN, passed away on Jan. 14, 2006, at Tri-County Convalescent Home in Adamsville, TN. She was a member of Henderson Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Wheatley was born in Chester County, the daughter of the late Earl and Lela Lofton Morris. She attended school in Chester County and was married to J. O. Wheatley on Dec. 26, 1940. They made their home in Chester County. She worked a short time at Salant and Salant Mfg. Mr. Wheatley died in November of 1979. She is survived by one daughter, Inez Carter (Harold) of Enville, TN; two grandchildren, Diane Baker of Parson, TN, and Dana Pete of Lake Charles, LA; four gr-grandchildren, Myra Baker, Ryan Baker, Wesley Pete and Justin Pete; and one gr-gr-grandchild Gavin Baker. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 17th at Leon Johnson Funeral Home of Henderson with Rev. Sammy Bowman and Rev. Bobby Beecham officiating. Burial will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery in Adamsville. Shackelford Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements. ................... JOSEY NELL PEARSON CURTIS, age 79, of Ramer, TN, passed away on January 9, 2006, at McNairy County Health Care Center. She was retired from Brown Shoe, a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church, and former participant of the Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her parents, Benton Wrenn and Grace Wrenn; her first husband, Lowell William Pearson; her second husband, Jesse Curtis; and three brothers, Odell, Carmen, and James Wrenn. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Deming of Jackson, TN; five sons, Benny Pearson of Bartlett, TN, Terry Pearson of Ramer, Roger Pearson of Forsyth, GA, Tim Pearson of Jacinto, MS, and Ricky Pearson of Lawton, TN; three sisters, Rose Crocker and Madge Wilbanks, both of Memphis, TN, and Beulah Whirley of Jackson, TN; one brother, Aubrey Wrenn, and fifteen grandchildren. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 11th at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Eastview, TN with Bros. Jimmy Garrett and Sammy Joe Washburn officiating. Burial followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery. FERGUSON, age 63, of Hornsby, TN, passed away on Jan. 9, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Faye Armor Ferguson, and one brother, Quinton Ferguson. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Faye Armor Ferguson; five sisters, Addiese Smith of Bolivar, TN, Sylvia Ingle and Annette McDaniel of Bethel Springs, and June Cox and Nadine Russom of Hornsby; and four brothers, Harmon Ferguson of Hornsby, Roger Ferguson and Lonnie Ferguson of Bethel Springs, TN, and Prentice Ferguson of Adamsville, TN. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 12th in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Vandiver officiating. Burial followed in Woodville Cemetery. JIMMY KING, age 78, and a resident of Troy, TN, and the father of Donna Howard of Selmer, died Tues., Jan. 12, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, TN. Funeral services were held Fri., Jan. 13th at 10 a.m. at White Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, TN. Dr. Van Kissel officiated the services. ................... GLADYS ELIZABETH MOORE KING, age 86, Hornsby, TN, passed away on Jan. 11, 2006, at McNairy Regional Hospital. She was a member of Gooch Church of Christ and a homemaker. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Zola Smith Moore; her husband, Joe Henry King; one son, Austin King; one sister, Edie Tackett; and one brother, Herbert Moore. She is survived by three daughters, Dottie Jackson of Guys, TN, Nancy Lowry of Flippin, AR, and Elizabeth Qualls of Selmer, TN; four sons, Curtis King of Selmer, Boby King of Paris, TN, Larry King of Ashland, MS, and Ronnie King of Hornsby, TN; two brothers, Paul Moore of Hornsby and Maynard Moore of Selmer, TN; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty gr-grandchildren and two gr-gr-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 13th in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Woods officiating. Burial followed in McCalips Chapel Cemetery in Selmer. ANNIE MAE YOUNG, age 93, of Adamsville, TN, passed away on Jan. 14, 2006, at McNairy Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church and worked for the Pinson Nursery for 18 years. Mrs. Young was born in Henderson County, the daughter of the late Oliver T. and Cora Nowell Young. She attended school in Henderson County and was married to Clyde Young in 1930. They made their home at Jacks Creek. Mr. Young died in 1980. In 1991 she moved to Adamsville to be near her family. She is survived by her daughter, Faye Brown of Adamsville; four sisters, Ruby Warner of Atlanta, GA, and Pearl Proctor, Flaudie Holder and Ardale Rhemenstiener, all of St. Louis, MO; a sister-in-law, Dot Young of Henderson, TN; five grandchildren, eight gr-grandchildren and one gr-gr-grandchild. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 17th at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Phil Mitchell and Bro. Steven Moore officiating. Burial followed in Unity Cemetery.
