Warnett, I, too, am researching McVEY/McVAY and have found it to be a very difficult line with many brick walls. I am wondering if you have found any of your McVEYs in Mississippi? I am looking for the parents, date of birth, and birth place of Robert McVEY who was in Clay and Oktibbeha Counties of MS in the early to mid 1800s. I am also looking for the birth place and mother's maiden name of Virgil Smith McVEY. Virgil was the son of Robert McVEY and his second wife Elizabeth. I find Virgil in Oktibbeha and Choctaw Counties of MS in the 1850s-1870s. Virgil was a corporal in Woods Regiment of MS Cav in the Civil War.
