Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper, Wed, June 1, 2005 DAVID A. MCCLAIN, 57, of Selmer, TN, passed away on May 20, 2005 at Tri-County Convalescent Home in Adamsville, TN. He was a member of Pleasant Site Baptist Church and a truck driver. Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his patents, Freeman and Lena James McClain and one brother, Ronald Earl McClain. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Houston McClain of Selmer; one daughter, Shelia Miller and husband Steve of Selmer; three sisters, Christine Sewell of Henderson, TN, Kay Nix of Adamsville, TN, and Janet Ferrell of Selmer; six brothers, Wendell, Maury, Phillip, and Ricky McClain of Selmer, Jimmy McClain of Eastview, TN, and Larry McClain of Harriman, TN; one grandchild, Lisa Miller. Services were Mon., May 23rd, at 1 p.m. in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer with Cordis P. Vandiver officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Site Cemetery in Selmer. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, the National Guard, and General Electric in Assembly. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Charles and Mary Rebecca Kennamore Williams, and one brother, J. C. Williams. He is survived by his wife, Janet King Williams; one daughter, Delaina McClain of Selmer; one son, Mark Williams of Bethel Springs, TN; two sisters, Frances Morgan of Haines City, FL and Chardean Trout of Bolivar, TN; two brothers, Thad Williams of Bolivar and Thomas Williams of Toone, TN; and seven grandchildren. Services were Thurs., May 26th, at 1 p.m. in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Selmer with James Smith officiating. Burial followed in Lake Hill Memorial Gardens in Bethel Springs. Mr. Irons was preceded in death by his father, Golden Irons, and one brother, Charles Irons. He is survived by his mother, Ethel Irons; one daughter, Stephanie Morris; four sisters, Carolyn Wilson, Geneva Scurry, Mae Jewel Gilliard and Sarah Irons; one grandchild, Alexis Wade Services were Sat., May 28th, at Southside High School in Counce at 11 a.m. with Bro. Will Luster officiating. Patterson Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements. ............. BILLY JOE BURNETTE, 68, of Hornsby, TN, died Tuesday morning, May 24, 2005 at his home. The husband of Bonnie Cofer Burnette, who survives. He was a saw mill worker and was employed by West Vaco for over 20 years. Mr. Burnette was born July 20, 1936, in Hardeman County, son of the late Garlon and Nell Sexton Burnette and lived here all of his life. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in McNairy County and a County Commissioner for Hardeman County. Services were at 2 p.m. on Thurs., May 26th, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar, TN with Frank Bell, Bobby Kirk, and Steve Robinson officiating. Burial was in Powell's Chapel Cemetery near Middleton, TN. In addition to his wife, whom he married Feb. 4, 1978, survivors include six daughters, Vickie Henson of Middleton, Lorraine Cranford of Walnut, MS, Resa Rush of Silerton, Ann Bryant of Bolivar, Gloria Hays of Pocahontas and Teresa Busby of Henderson; three sons, Leon Burnette of Middleton, Pedie Cofer of Collierville, TN and Melvin Cofer of Hornsby; TN; two sisters, Mary Ann Raines of Memphis, TN and Garlene Dawson of Walnut, MS.; twenty-three grandchildren and nine gr-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Drexel Cofer, and two brothers, Aaron Burnette and James Henry Burnette. The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. She was a member of the Lorraine Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Kiddy was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ruby Morgan Curtis; her husband, Albert Kiddy; three brothers, Granville Curtis, Jessie Curtis, and John Fred Curtis; and one daughter, JoAnn Essary. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Rowsey and husband, Jimmy of Selmer, TN; five sons, John Kiddy and Ron Kiddy of Memphis, TN, Marc Kiddy and wife Patty, of Selmer, Donnie Kiddy of Guys, and David Kiddy of Ramer, TN; eight grandchildren, Renee Rowsey of Selmer, Brian Rowsey and wife Christy, of Bethel Springs, TN, Brandi Wardlow and husband, Ken of Ramer, Don Essary and wife, Judy of Baldwyn, MS., Brooke Kiddy of Ramer, Buzz Essary of Corinth, MS, Dale Essary and wife, Michelle of Corinth; five Gt-grandchildren, Caroline Rowsey of Selmer, Kristen Rowsey, Jillian Rowser both of Bethel Spirngs, TN, Bailee Essary and Courtney Essary both of Corinth.
