Mrs. Hughes was a retired seamstress. She was also a faithful member of Bethlehem Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Enloe and Ruthie Lee; two husbands, Julius Whitten and Lee Hughes; three sisters, Georgia Cagle, Mildred Cobb and Glylis Stewart; a brother, Wilson Lee; and an infant daughter Whitten. She is survived by a step-daughter, Glenda Balentine of Portland, OR; a son, Charles Whitten of Portland, OR; two brothers, Leon Lee and Rayburn Lee, both of Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Whitten of Portland, OR; and three grandchildren, Doug Whitten, Ken Whitten, and Randy Whitten, all of Portland, OR. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wed., July 14th at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer with Billy Joe Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Good Hope Cemetery in Adamsville.
