    2. David Cagle
    3. In the Hardin Co., TN Court Records, January 1823, Charles Cagle is appointed to lay off and mark a road from Brown's Ferry on the Tennessee River to Able Oxford'd Place. (This order was given before McNairy was established and I believe a portion of this road was in present day McNairy Co.) Charles Cagle bought 87 acres from Daniel W. Martindale for $800 on 4 July 1837 and sold the same land to Archibald C. Houston for $1000 on 22 January 1838. I would like to know the location of this property and anything about Charles Cagle. She married an R. C. Houston in McNairy County. According to Goodspeed's history of McNairy County, Revolutionary War soldier Archibald Houston moved to McNairy County from Pennsylvania in 1822, remaining until his death in 1837. Goodspeed also noted that McNairy County Fourth District pioneer John M. Hamm married Elizabeth Houston, daughter of R. C. and Rebecca Houston, in December, 1843. They had twelve children. I hope this helps. > > Dan Fulghum > Houston > > > ============================== > Search over 900 million names at Ancestry.com! > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist1.asp > >
