One interpretation: "Sweet Lips was a rifle used by Robert Young, a 64-year-old Blue Ridge frontiersman, who fatally shot Major Patrick Ferguson, commander of the British troops during the American Revolution. This event broke the spirit of the British, marked a turning point in the war, and eventually led to British surrender at Yorktown in 1781."
