    3. Appeared in the Independent Appeal Newspaper, Wed., June, 29, 2005 VADIE I. MOORE DROKE, 94, of Adamsville, TN, passed away on June 26, 2005, at Jackson-Madison County General. She was a retired garment factory worker and worked as a Nurses Aide, and was a member of Maggie Jones Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Droke was preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Lena Plunk Moore; her husband, Rufus Droke; and infant son, Aubrey Wayne Droke; four sisters, Vonnie Lofton, Virgie Stewart, Arvie Young, and Beulah Pusser; and three brothers, Millard, Odie, and Marlie Moore. She is survived by one son, Charles E. Droke and wife, Emma of Adamsville. Services were at 1:30 p.m. on Tues., June 28th, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Brown and Bro. John Hitz officiating. Burial followed in Maggie Jones Memorial Cemetery in Finger. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of the arrangements. ................. JAMES JONES, 38, of Enville, TN, passed away on June 19, 2005, at McNairy Regional Hospital. He was born n Chester County on Jan. 7, 1967, the son of Elizabeth Van Jones and the late Dennie Jones. He attended school in Adamsville, TN and was married to Dora Wilkinson in 1989. He worked as a timer cutter for several years. Along with his mother and wife, Mr. Jones is survived by two daughter, Sara Lacey Jones and Ravin Lindsey Jones of Enville; five sisters, Lynn and Lucille Jones of Memphis, TN, Rosie Owens of Selmer, TN, Diane Midddleton of Jacks Creek, and Nancy Tull of Bethel Springs, TN; and two brothers, Larry D. Jones of Selmer and William D. Jones, Jr., of Bethel Springs. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. in Milledgeville cemetery with Rev. Ken Kitchen officiating. Leon Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. ................. J. FRANK STRAWN, SR, 81, of Charlotte, NC, died on June 20, 2005. He was born on June 24, 1923, in Hardin County to the late Lloyd and Mary Louise Harris Strawn. He was a Regional Sales Director for the Franklin Life Insurance Company and a graduate of the University of Hark Knocks. Mr. Strawn was a member of Who's Who in Business and served our country in the United Stated Marine Corps during World War II. Mr. Strawn was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Helen Aman Strawn and his daughter, Becky Strawn. He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Culler of Charlotte, NC and his son, Jim Strawn, Jr., of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Edward Strawn Culler and Helen Ruth Horne, both of Charlotte; two brothers, Billy Strawn of Michie, TN and Wayne Strawn of Greenville, NC; and one sister, Rachel Farnsworth of Reno, NV. A graveside service was held on Thurs., June 23rd, at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Honors Presented by the United Stated Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions my be made to the Shepard's Center of Charlotte, 1931 Selwyn Ave., Charlotte, NC 28207, or to the charity of the donor's choice. ROBERT DENNY BROADWAY, 73, of Selmer, TN, passed away on June 24, 2005, at Magnolia Regional Healthcare in Corinth, MS. He was a retired dye caster at Harmon Industries, a member of Second Baptist Church of Selmer, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Broadway was preceded in death by his parents, William Claude and Audrey Ethel Richards Broadway. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services were at 1 p.m. on Sun., June 26th, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery in Selmer. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. ............ WANETA HUTCHINGS, 73, of Selmer, TN, passed away on June 22, 2005, at McNairy Regional Hospital. She was a member of McNairy County Developmental Center, a Baptist in belief, and was disabled. Ms. Hutchings was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Edna Stone Hutchings and her two sisters, Wanda Lee Hutchings. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Brown of Finger, TN and Marcia Winters of Tampa, FL and several nieces and nephews. Services were at 3 p.m. on Sun., June 26th, in the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Burks officiating. Burial followed in Brown Cemetery in Finger. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. ............ HOWARD EDWARD "BUD" EVERETT, 72, of Ramer, TN, passed away on Mon., June 27, 2005, at McNairy Regional Hospital. He was retired and a Baptist in belief. Mr. Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Vinnie Everett; a sister, Shirley Hill; and a granddaughter, Allison Eder. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Treece Everett of Adamsville, TN; three daughters, Glynda Eder (Don) of Van Cleave, MS, Debbie McCollum (Terry) of Alabaster, AL and Susie Hollie (Wayne) of Bartlett, TN; two step-grandchildren, Kenneth Treece of Adamsville, TN and Linda Corbin (Keith) of Rienzi, MS; four sister, Virginia Laughter (Buddy) of Memphis, TN, Leah Morphis of Olive Branch, MS, Geraldine Brown of Ramer, TN, and Dorothy Wilbanks (Junior) of Ramer; one brother, Travis Everett of Memphis, TN; 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 1 gr-grandchild, 4 step-gr-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be Wed., June 29th at 1 p.m., at the Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Selmer with Keith King officiating. Burial will followed in the Indian Creek Cemetery in Ramer. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer were in charge of arrangements. ............ SUE MCALISTER ANDERSON, 81, of Birmingham, AL, died on Sat., June 25, 2005. She was a member of Unity of Birmingham Church. She was a dual member of the Eastern Star with memberships with Eastlake Chapter 258 and Ruth Chapter 3. She was Resident of the Year and Best Dressed for 2004 at Jefferson Rehabilitation and Health Center 2005. She was an active member of Selmer High School, Tennessee Alumni. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul A. McAlister and Walter B. Anderson. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Sue Wates and husband Garry of Birmingham; son Rodger D. McAlister and wife Laura of Madison, AL; sister, Bertha McClintock of Bolivar, TN; two grandchildren, Melissa Reeves and husband Wayne of Wetumpka, AL, and LaDonna Peoples and husband Earnie of Anderson, SC; and four gr-grandchildren, Amanda Finley and husband Chris of Atlanta, GA, Danielle and Blake Peoples of Anderson SC and Christopher Reeves of Wetumpka. Funeral services were held on Tues., June 28th, at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Jefferson memorial Gardens East. The family would like to thank the faculty and staff at Jefferson Rehabilitation and Health Center for their loving care since 2003. Jefferson Memorial Trussville was directing service. ............
