I'd find out if there is anything to sue for, however. I'm glad you posted this and I wish you would make your book available again. I'll get up there one day. Thank you, Penny. I don't know if it will be in the book. These Hursts were from a different line of Hursts than the ones of the Hurst Nation. Samuel's father, Levi, was a friend of Fielding Hurst & fought in his Federal 6th Cavalry. My husband's Hurst ancestors were a divided family. The father & four sons fought for the North & the two oldest sons fought for the South. We would love to know Martha J.'s maiden name so we could research it. For anyone researching the COMBS family in McNairy County, here is an excellent page set up by the Web Site. Here is the link: http://www.combs-families.org/combs/records/tn/mcnairy.htm The site is just devoted to Combses in McNairy County. It includes abstracts of census records, marriage records, etc. Also references concerning Combs families in REMINISCENCES of the EARLY SETTLEMENT and EARLY SETTLERS of Mc Nairy County, Tennessee by Gen. Marcus J. Wright, and a connection with the Adams family that Adamsville was named for. Also Bible records and an obituary. --Glenn Gohr
