    3. How about for every blade of grass...about as practical. There should be some way it could be broken down to be of use...I think. Doing it by the state would be confusing....everyone moved around so much...at least my Smiths did and Jones....Someone else will have to do those lines...I like a challenge but I am not a masochist. 2. Hi, Anyone that has access to 1850 Census of McNairy Co., Tn. Could you check the CANNON HILL family and JAMES HILL family. I would like to see if my GGrandfather Riley H. (Mack) Hill b. May 1843 is listed as a son of either of these men. They would probably be in the area of Purdy. Thank you for any help you can give me. Ivalon Hill Fox Ivalonf@aol.com

    3. List members: Yes, its me again, your host. I am so pleased with the response you have shown to the list. Now, if you would post all research requests to the list and not personelly to me. I would appreciate it so much and others might be interested in the lookup results. Also this way, if there are others out there that has books at home they maybe can pitch in and help do lookups. I will still be reading each and every posting and helping. Just list the request such as: Need lookup for Pat Jones on 1880 McNairy Co. census. (If you find me there let me know),ha,ha. Thanks Pat

Your John Gage is too young to be the John J. Gage, son of Matthew Gage. The only one that I find amongst the Gages in my database is the John Gage that you mention above son of Charles Gage. Please keep in touch as Gage is one of my husband's family lines. -- Johnita P. Malone jmalone@ix.netcom.com

    3. Looking for any information about Gage families in Mcnairy County, TN. My great great grandfather was born on October 11, 1849 in TN, and his name was John Jefferson Gage. In looking at census records, I discovered a Charles and Nancy Gage living near Purdy township in the 1850 census. They had Emaline, age 3, and John, 9/12. In the 1860 census, Nancy was listed as head of household, and Emaline was 13, John was 11, and Logan was 5. I have not seen records for any census after 1860 to verify when John may have left TN. I am about to order a copy of his death certificate from the MO Vital Records Office, and with any luck, that will list his parents names. His father, Charles, was born in Alabama as listed in the 1850 census. If anyone has any information that might help me connect John to a family I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
