    2. David, The info that was in the notebook on Daniel Hill stated on page 2 "When he was a young boy he moved with his father to Landoun County, Virginia. While a resident of Washington County, North Carolina, which later became Tennessee, he enlisted in the fall of 1780 and served three months as Private in Captain James Wilson's Company, in Col. John Senero N.C. regiment and went on an expedition against the Cherokee Indians. He enlisted in 1781 and served three months as a Private in Captain James Wilson's Company in Col. John Senero's N.C. regiment. He enlisted in 1782 and served three months as a Private in Captain James Wilson's Company in Col. John Senero's N.C. regiment, and went on an expedition against Cherokee Indians. He was allowed pension on his application executed June 24, 1833, at which time he was referred to as Daniel Hill, Sr. He was then a resident of McNairy County, Tennessee. There are no data relative to wife and children. The above noted is the history of the only soldier named Daniel Hill who lived in McNairy County, Tennessee, that is found in Revolutionary War records of this Bureau. (End of Pension Record. Pension Board Records of Washington, D.C. War Record Admnst Veterans of Washington, D.C. Bureau of Pensions War Section MCS-MPB Claim S. 1670 by E.W. Morgan received in 1833) Daniel Hill moved to Jefferson County, Tennessee and lived on the Nallichucky River, having previously lived on the French Brood River. A Case in Court styled "William Allen vs Daniel Hill, judgment for defendant" 1792 He was a juror in 1793 with James Hill, Samuel Hill and John Hill. (Jefferson County, Tn.) Many grants in Jefferson, Cocke and Green Counties, in and around Chuck River, by the Hill's (Letter from County Clerk, Jefferson County, Tennessee, Mrs. Rainwater.) The farm purchased by Baldwin Harle is about 8 miles from Morristown (nor Hanblan County) Land granted Daniel Hill (100A) on north side Nallichucky dated July 18, 1833; recorded by Daniel Hill October 5, 1833, Jefferson County, Tennessee. Samuel Hill, Sr., transferred to Daniel Hill, Sr., (brother) December 22, 1797. Records from Registrar's Office, Dandridge, County Seat, Jefferson County) Page 3 of the notebook: Daniel Hill and his wife Eleanor are both buried in Rose Hill Cemetery about 3 miles from Bethel Springs, McNairy County, Tennessee. 2. The notebook that I referred to was "The Hill Family Tree" as recorded by Mary Hill Brewer of Dallas, Texas. She passed away in 1965. She had traced the Hill family from John Hill b. 1608 Chard, Sommersetshire, Eng. down to the Hills that ended up in McNairy Co., Tn. Some went to Ky and Mo. There is a good tree on this family with a lot of the notes on FTM. (I believe it was on #4) The person who put this out had entered a lot of the notes and it is quite interesting. They were apparently from the Abraham Hill line and down through his son Daniel Anderson Hill who married Eliza Jane Baucam. I found that Hill - Baucam connection quite revealing, because my Riley H. Mack Hill married Rhoda Caroline Baucom. (The Asa Baucom line must have changed the spelling on their last name - or my Ransom Baucom line changed theirs, because they were all part of the same line.) The Daniel Hill that I am researching, had a brother Reuben that lived in Virginia and he married Joisy Hanks, who was a cousin of Nancy Hanks, the mother of Abraham Lincoln. Do you know if any of the Hill family there are doing any research on the Daniel Hill - Eleanor Nodding line? I would sure like to find out where my Riley fits into the family. 2. Susie Grant
    3. I have a CROUSE, but am at a dead end with her. Have not been able to even find a marriage record so I am not sure what county they were married in. Elizabeth L. CROUSE born c 1819-1820 in TN. ( Parents born NC ) . Elizabeth married Jones TAYLOR before 1838 when their first child, Samuel , was born. She is on the 1840 Hardeman CO. TN census and each census thereafter until 1900. ( Died between 1880- 1900 census ) The TAYLORS are also first found on the 1840 Hardeman CO. census, although John TAYLOR married in 1832 in Madison CO. TN. Jones TAYLOR had a brother , Giles TAYLOR who married Sarah CROUSE in Hardeman CO. in 1842. We believe Elizabeth and Sarah were sisters but have no parents for them. HICKS - I also have HICKS in Henry CO. TN 1830 and onward. William Nelson HICKS b. c 1819 in TN m. Rosanne WISEMAN b. c 1819-1820. WEAVER - Nodie and Bizzie Lou WEAVER b. 1876 and 1886 married TAYLOR brothers in Hardeman CO.
