I have seen the name Austin connected the Staton surname in North Carolina but I couldn't say that they were the same Austins. I have about 3 Staton-Austin marriages in Union Co., NC. These Austins would have been closely connected to the Vroner Staton who married Lula Plunk in my husband's line. Vroner's father was Calvin Staton and I think he first went to Mississippi, maybe Alcorn Co., and later came to McNairy Co., TN., and married there in 1866. I think I first find him on the McNairy Co., TN., census in 1880 also. I don't know. Just an idea. Johnita
