    1. [TNMCNAIR-L] LOOK UP
    2. Is there anyone that has access to records or books regarding Marriages in McNairy Co, TN around 1830. I don't know if there tax records for that time period, but even those would help. I need assistance with a Hugh (Huriah), Charles, and Thankful Morris. I did find them on the 1830 census and Thankful was on the 1840 census. Thanks ever so much. Elaine

    3. Johnita, I'm sorry, but at this time I have no record of your Lucy Barnes. I believe Lucinda was one of the TN Barnes names though and by the family going to McNairy Co there certainly could be a kinship. I'll keep an eye out for any connecting links. 3. Members: One more time I'll try to send this The link below is the 1867 McNairy Co.TN property list, prior years were lost or destroyed. There are five columns: 1=district number 2=property owner names 3=number of acres 4=dollar amount of property 5= 0 means they did not pay a poll tax 1 means they paid a poll tax and could vote. For the ones that aren't on the internet: Well I will open my mouth again and will do look ups for you. But please I have to have the district number as the list is posted by districts. If anyone has problems linking please let me know, don't know what I can do about it but will do something. Pat http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/3265/1867tax.htm

    3. Hi Bertie Glad your feeling better WISH I WAS, Im coming down with something it started a couple days ago. Charles was born in SC around ca. 1894/5 I believe him to be one of the eldest sons !! Yes Iv got a good data base on the Barnes but with a lot of loose ends< Grin> His two oldest sons were born in 1818 & 1819 Westly and Dennis ( this one married Reliance )who married around 1837 their first son was born in 1838 before the marriage date of Oct. 1838 everyone has down on him. I am working on the Police Court Records of Old Tishomingo County Courts and have turned up more information on these Barnes... but nothing that has made a big impacted on anything else I have. 3. Bobbie, Bless your heart, you are just working away. I've been sick and haven't gotten a thing done. I haven't been able to sleep at night for coughing. No fun at all. Maybe Reliance will show up in the Sistler marriage records. I'll get to the library this weekend if possible. Were these two Dennis Barnes close in age? Old Dennis Barnes was born about 1766. The old one I think is the one thought to be Nancy's father. I need to really work all the census records so I'll know what is going on with all those guys. How many Dennis Barneses were there anyway? I believe you said that Charles Barnes is believed to be a son of old Dennis. About when was he born? Would he have been younger than Nancy Barnes Dancer b 1800 SC? I think I'll start a Barnes database so I can keep track of these families. Since we now know that Margarett Dancer was a Barnes also, it gets more and more interesting. ASHALL DANCER, the eldest of the Dancer boys, was married probably in 1813 or 1814. His first child was born in TN 18 Jun 1815. His wife is said to be MARY WARD. There is no documented proof of who she is, but she is supposed to be Indian. I'm betting he may have married in Stewart Co, also, since that is where we believe the family was living at the time. In 1820 he was in Franklin Co, AL and in 1830 Shelby Co, TN. The family was in Texas by 1836. Mary was born in TN abt 1798. Just thinking. 3. David, To be honest with you, I'm not sure. The book that I looked at only had the name of the cemetery. Most of my Emmons-McGee relations lived around Selmer if that's any help. Pat Jones was kind enough to look up Frank McGee in the 1900 census for me. Frank McGee, May 1854, age 46, married 13 years, AL, AL, AL Almedia " , July 1875, age 24, AL, AL, AL Roxy L., Aug. 1889, age 10, AL, AL, AL Chappel B., Feb. 1891, age 9, AL, AL, AL Grover C., Jan. 1893, age 7, AL, AL, AL Dora L., Oct. 1895, age 4, TN, AL, AL Rosy L., Oct. 1897, age 2, TN, AL, AL Forrest D., Sep. 1899, age 6mos., TN, AL, AL In the marriage records Pat found Frank McGee married Almedia Fowler in McNairy Co. on 25 Sep 1888. Thanks so much to Pat for her help. David, are you familiar with this family? Tracy
