    1. [TNMCNAIR-L] Naylors from Finger, TN
    2. Paul
    3. Hi Gang, I'm looking for decendants of Robert Oscar Naylor. He was born in Finger. According to the headstone, on June 17, 1880. I have heard Dad talk about an Aunt Martha, Aunt Cibie, Uncle Frank and Uncle Ben. A Robert O. is listed on the 1910 Chester Co. Census with George as father and Amanda C. is buried with him at Friendship Cemetary. What I am trying to find out is, were there more than one Robert O. Naylor in Chester Co. , McNairy Co. or anywhere close by. The 1910 census listed him as 28, he shuld have been 30 in 1910. Robert Oscar Naylor married Nancy Ann Gilam somewhere around 1921. They moved to Memphis and then shortly afterward to Pine Bluff, AR. He was a Coach Builder for the Cotton Belt Rail Road In P.B. Any info would be appreciated, Paul Naylor pnaylor@cswnet.com Beebe, Ar

    2. In a message dated 98-12-04 19:57:33 EST, you write: << Who is your Hendrix? >> Bettie, I am searching for Newt Hendrix, born about mid-1800's. Family members say he was in the Civil War and was shot in the kneecap. He lived in Dyer County, Tennessee at the time of his death. He married Betty Pool(e) and they had the following children: Lela Leveta (my husband's great-grandmother), Cass, Elipe, Ida, and Lillie. We are told that Newt came to Tennessee from Arkansas and that he was an illegitmate child. Does this ring any bells? I'm totally stumped on this line! Karen

    2. Sara, What Monroe line are you researching? I have a Monroe branch that I haven't even begun to expand on, but I do have quite a bit that was done by a family member in the 1960's (I think). Our Monroes lived in Finley, Tennessee (Dyer County) at one point, but they scattered pretty far from what I can determine. Karen

    3. I'm not sure I can help shed any light on this Larue family either but think that Mary Larue who married John Dunn could have been the daughter of Willian Calvin Larue and Marena/Maria Owens. This only because of the following census record: 1850 Census McNairy Co., TN. District 7, family 154 pg ___ Maria Jones/48/F/W/SC Stephen Larue/18/M/W/TN/laborer George/16/M/W/TN/laborer Mary/14/F/W/TN Isaac/11/M/W/TN Samuel/1 mo/M/W/TN 1860 Census McNairy Co., TN. I received William Calvin Larue's name from a correspondent: I am currently looking for any info about the LARUE family. William Calvin LARUE b. 8/27/1817 d. 6/28/1872 married to Marena OWENS b. 3/10/1823 d. 3/18/1897. They had nine children: Stephen Bedford, James L., Sarah Jane, Mary Marriah, Julia Ann, Alexander Morgan, Almeda Emmaline, Robert Lee, and Elizah Walker all born in Enville, TN. Any info about any LARUE family members in Enville would be greatly appreciated. My mother and I are planning a trip this summer to Enville and would like to gather as much info before leaving. Thanks! Leanna Harris -- Box 696, Water Valley, TX 76958. lharris@wcc.net. Submitted on Fri Jan 9 03:18:35 EST 1998 In light of this, I'm not sure whether Maria Jones is the widow of William Calvin Larue or the widow of Stephen Larue. There is certainly not very much supporting evidence to support Mary Larue's marriage to Charles Bingham. Here is a census record for him. 1870 Census Henderson Co., TN. District 13, family 80 Charles Bingham/26/farmer Emaline/26 William/8 Tennese/4 mos Looks like his wife might be a little too young to be Mary Larue but then sometimes the ages are wrong on the census.
