I am not familiar with the names of your family. However, my Burkett family lived in Ramer, Tenn., near Muddy Bottom. I bet that was the same place called by your family Muddy Creek. Sincerely, Gladys Burkett
Hi Barbara, I do not show anything on the children you mention. I do not think they were Jacob's kids. They would have been born while he was married to his first wife, but she would have been in her fifties. Perhaps they were grandkids? I couldn't find any reference in my files on the other names you mention. -----Original Message----- From: Mook, Barbara [mailto:Barbara@matnet.com] Sent: Thursday, December 10, 1998 9:42 PM To: TNMCNAIR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNMCNAIR-L] Burkeen/Jackson/Brooks Daniel, I am interest in the your Jackson line. I don't think I have e-mailed you before. I don't have any information on Claborn Harris, but I think he and Richard Browder were brother-in-laws. Richard married Mary Ann Harris in l8l9 in Rockingham Co. N. C. Richard and Mary were my husband's ancestors. I am trying to do research on the Harris family now. I located a William Harris living close to Richard and Mary. Another genealogist thinks the father of Mary Ann Harris was Levi. I just don't know at this point. Dale Johnson Huntsville,Al.
One genealogist thinks the father of Mary Ann Hariris was Levi Harris. I found a William Harris living 3 houses, I think it was, from the Browders in l830. Richard Browder and Mary Ann Harris are my husband's ancestors. Dale Johnson Huntsvilile,Al.

Specific questions I have are: Information on descendants of John T. Wall, especially his older children, Beulah Wall (b. abt 1880, m. Tom Wicker) and Grady Wall (also b. abt 1880, m. Erma Lee); What became of Joseph Brooks, Jr., the brother of my g-grandfather Wiley Brooks. They were orphaned at an early age, and Wiley was raised by a Ross family, but I can find no record of what happened to Joseph, Jr., who would have been born around 1860. James Burkeen died around 1874 in the Stantonville area. I have been unable to locate his burial place. I can find no information on the wife of James Burkeen, Nancy Robison, 1810 - about 1870. Does anyone have anything on the descendants of James B. Crabtree, b. 1865 or his sister, Mary J. Crabtree, b. 1867? Does anyone have info on the descendants of William A. Rowsey (1840-?)and Hannah Emaline Burkeen Rowsey (1848 - 1922)? Hannah died in Hardin County and is buried at the Shiloh Church. They had two daughters, Sarah, b. Yes, I am researching the Alexander surname. My great-grandmother, Luvenia Louise Alexander married Adolphus Monroe Reinhardt in McNairy County, Tenn. in the 1800s. She had two brothers, Jim Alexander and Will Alexander. These Alexanders had originally come from Tupelo, Miss. Their Dad, Jacks Alexander had come from North Carolina. Luvenia was full-blood BlackHawk( Keetoowah) Cherokee Indian. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Dear Sara, I am researching Adolphus Monroe Reinhardt, born in Newton, North Carolina in the mid 1800s. He left there when he was about 17 years old to make his fortune. He was called Adolph. He was my maternal great-grandfather. He bought land in McNairy County, Tenn. and married the daughter of a friend of his from North Carolina, Jacks Alexander. Adolph married my great-grandmother, Luvenia Louise Reinhardt, who was born in a BlackHawk( Keetoowah) Cherokee Indian village in Tupelo, Mississippi, in the early 1860s. Adolph had the largest farm in McNairy County, Tenn., that was owned by him , a man of color in the 1900s. He had a Church and a school built on his property. Do yo have any info for me? Thanks for responding.

Catherine, I am not related to the Nesbitts but I am interested in the family because William J. Nesbitt was a member of Company G, First Confederate Cavalry Regiment. William was born in Wayne Co., TN on 1 Sept. 1837. He was living at Olive Hill in Hardin Co., in 1909 when he applied for a Confederate pension. The company was organized in the fall of 1861 in Hardin County. I would like to contact anyone who had knowledge of "G" Co. Over the years, Nesbitts have lived in the eastern part of Hardin Co., in the area near Olive Hill. Members of that family remain in that area today.
