Malissie was my great-grandfather's sister and one of at least twelve children born to Benjamin HARDIN WHITEHOUSE and Cornelia Elizabeth "Neely" MINER HARDIN who were early pioneers of the Portland, at that time, Richland, Sumner Co. TN area. Malissie was probably born between 1880 and 1886 as I have dates for 10 of her siblings that range from 1867 - 1889 and the six years between ' 80 & ' 86 is the largest spread of unaccounted for years during those 22 years. (Hope that this is not too confusing!) I don't have anything further on the BOREN line however and would appreciate it very much if you could provide a little insight into this branch of my family. When I first began Internet research for my genealogy hobby, I had information on only one of the 12 HARDIN siblings; my great-grandfather Timothy Clinton HARDIN b. 1879 and that was skimpy at best. I now, with the assistance of some very generous and kind individuals, have names of all twelve and birth and/or death dates for all except two, Malissie and brother Gill who I suspect was born between 1872 - 1874. Burial spots have been discovered for all but four; Malissie, Gill, Gus & Joseph A. (Gus b. 1867 and Joseph A. b. 1868), I have found confirmed connections to 3 new "cousins" on the web with possibly 2 others who may be related AND most exciting is that a long standing family tradition/rumor that this family was somehow related to the 16th US President Abraham LINCOLN is in the final stages of being confirmed. So it has been a most rewarding journey that I have had the privelege of traveling electronically for the past 10 months and I consider any and all time and monies spent as well worth the price. I can only pray that it continues to go as well for me in the coming year. I wish you much success with your own research and if there is anything that you suspect may help you with same - please contact me at BULL4FISH2@aol.com and ask away.....I'll be delighted to assist you in any way I can. 3. Hi, My LANIER's are: Amanda Almeta LANIER, b 1852, place unknown William E. (Ervin)LANIER, sometimes referred to in documents as Irvine) which has caused some confusion. William was born ca 1820 in Giles Co.TN Source of birth is 1850 Lauderdale Co. AL Census, which lists him as being 30 years old. That's where my information ends.......I have been told that William E.'s father was Henry LANIER, but I have yet to find any documentation that would prove this. Thanks for responding.....do any of these names sound familiar to you? Nancy

    2. Do any of you have information on this person who was on the McNairy County register of deed list posted by Pat Jones? A.M. McKee 1844-48 I have an Anna Haynes in my family history who married Hawkins McKee in 1887 (Lauderdale Co. AL) and I've been unable to find anything about him or his family, except that he was listed on one of the Hardin County, TN Civil War rosters (Rebel cause). His family may have been from both McNairy and Hardin Counties. The A.M. McKee listed (above) could have - "time-wise" - been his father or uncle. If you have found any mention of Hawkins McKee, no matter how small it may seem, please pass it on to me. Roseanne Cain
