    3. To anyone out there! I'm looking for the family and descendants of William PHILLIPS and Lucinda ELLIS, both born ca 1827 in Tennessee according to their ages given in the 1860 Census. He was shown as a tenant farmer living in the area of the Mud Creek P.O. They had: 1) James, age 17, M, W, listed as a day laborer 2) Robert, age 10, M, W 3) Marion, age 7, M, W 4) Almeda, age 5, F, W 5) Amanda, age 2, F, W In the 1870 Census all were living in the area of the Purdy P.O. James and Robert were no longer living at home. Three more children are shown : 6) William, age, 9, M, W 7) Rebecca, age 6, F, W 8) Rufus, age 4, M, W Can anyone give a lead on this family and what happened to the children? I'd sure appreciate it! That is the first tidbit I have come up with in regards to Margrett Walker other than the NEILL family Bible. I'll check it out and THANKS FOR THE HELP. Have you ever seen these people in your data or searches? I saw your Email address & chickasaw is in it. Are you in MS? I have a lot of Winter people who were from there in Chickasaw Co & are buried there. I think there were Neil/Neill's there back in the early & middle 1800's. Would love to hear from you? 3. I've found this to be very frustrating, but I have been able to verify marriages based on deed records, court records and guardian bonds there in McNairy county. In one instance, I found a deed record dated 1858 that had embedded in the text the transcript from a chancery court decision that cited wife and children and confirmed husband's death in 1857. Those chancery court records no longer exist by themselves, but this one survived because it was transcribed into the deed record.
