I am looking for a Patie Emmons or Chambers who was listed on the 1910 census living with William Wesley Emmons and Lina Ann Hopkins and listed as a child. Listed also were her four children Chambers b. 1902, Frank b 1904, Ernest b 1906 and Mamie b 1908.I have received info that says she was a Chambers, not an Emmons. The area where the Emmons lived was on Race Path Road, and there were also a Hagy family and a Chambers family. I believe the Chambers was Robert father of Jim Chambers. This Patie was born in 1884. Anyone know of these families? Sara Norris

My great grandfather was Steven Barber, who also fought in the 6th TN Calvary. Does anyone know where I can find information on the unit, such as a picture, etc. Thanks in advance.

The national park service has a project to list the name of every soldier who served in the civil war. They have quite a large amount of data already online. Patricia and List, I need to set the record straight. The Burden/Birmingham reference in my post was to a marriage between Laura Birmingham and a Mr. Burden, NOT to the name Burden evolving into Birmingham. Thanks, Shelley Patricia Wojewski wrote: > Hello, I found it interesting that Burton/Burden has become Burden/Birmingham > as well. Hello, I found it interesting that Burton/Burden has become Burden/Birmingham as well. It's funny how names get changed around throughout the years. The reason I say Burton/Burden is because in the book titled: That They Live, the name of Burden was spelled Burton in the pages copied from the bible and written that way many years ago. And, I noticed that down through the years some of the other relatives started writing the name as Burden. So, that is interesting that somehow you found it as Burden/Birmingham, because perhaps I should look further into this for my own families past-the Birmingham part of it. Especially since my ggrandmother Nancy Jane Burden Wilson was reared in that area and married my ggrandfather Samuel S. Wilson there as well. I will copy your letter to save for future reference. Hope it proves helpful in my family research. Patricia Wilson W. [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley R. Nancy, Could you check a few names for me in your book? I have in my files that the following 4 men were in the 6th Cavalry. I'm just curious what it might say about them. I probably have a few more that I'd like to request at a later date if possible. William M. Curtis William Laughlin Franklin A. Young Rufus N. Young Thanks for your offer.
