Well here in Sunnyland, IL, we already have more snow on the ground than we received the entire winter last year and today is the first day of winter! Schools are closed again today and we have had 6 major winter storms pass through in the last week! I'm not complaining...I love snow! It's just the heating bill I can't stand! :o) Everyone have a Blessed Christmas! Sandra [email protected] Remember the days of long ago; think about the generations past. Ask your father and he will inform you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you. Sonya, the link from the mail works for me. Perhaps it is looking at the link with the 1830 which makes on think they are not getting there. I did not consider that when I added the census to the same page and left the URL name as is. This is a URL link from the main page. I am only guessing at straws on why this does not work for all, as this is not the first time the issue has been brought up. I feel like I am back in Alaska, I have 16 inches of Ice on the ground. The van high centered on the ice and slid but all was o.k. when the trusty 69 Bronco, came out of the garage. The snow man has sat in the yard for over a week now, not melted one drop. I ware insulated everything to feed the birds, from a gallon milk container, since I can no longer access the bird feeder. So Barbara , come on down to Rolla, MO., and feel at home. Merry Christmas, Mary Hudson >Happy Holidays everyone. >Here in Southeast Alaska the weather has been exceptionaly warm.. Nancy, I'm confused on the dates, especially the birth date of Hance, you list below. I have Hance T. Emmons married Mary Rushing ca 1864. I also have in my database a J.N. Emmons who married 27 Nov 1879 Laura A Springer, b. 1861, daughter of AT Springer and Mary Ann McCoy, and Rufus Emmons who married in 1904 Perdetta Springer, born 12 Mar 1880, daughter of Jesse Comer Springer and Cora Huggins. I don't know how the Emmons are related - was J.N. Emmons a son of Hance from his first marriage? Which is really not what you want to know. I don't know a thing about Hance's first wife. Would Hance and his first wife be listed in the 1860 McNairy Census? I'm probably adding more confusion. I've enjoyed reading the weather reports. Here in Portland Oregon we are enjoying rain and rain and rain - it's something you have learn to enjoy or I guess you move away. Merry Christmas from Blackwell, Harris and Siddle descendants - we will have a White Christmas in Indiana, too. -10 with windchill this morning. Still we have warm feelings for all who have helped find more ancestors. Barbara, I was in Alaska in 1958 in the U.S.Army at Fairbanks. I remember skiing in 50 below weather and saw it get to 66 below in downtown Fairbanks. Tampa Florida went down to 32 degrees last night with a high today of 48 degrees. I know that seems like nothing to you northerners; but for us it is really cold considering that some winters it never makes it into the thirty's. We pay the price for this in the summer when for 5 months straight, it is in the 90's And heat index over 100. That is a long hot summer but it is worth it for the milder winters. Martha
